Linking tickets

How does it work on MDE once you link tickets to someone? I linked some yesterday and it asked if I was sure I wanted to link because it cannot be undone? Yet I seem to be able to reassign the ticket prior to it being used for the first time. I'm confused. Why the warning of not being able to undo?

Once you link a ticket, it can't be unlinked. Assigning and reassigning can occur until the ticket is used.

I had this happen. A member of my party ended up not going. I couldn't unlink the ticket but I reassigned it to my account for later use.

Does that mean you can reassign to anyone?

Is there a disadvantage to linking? I like to link so I do not worry about losing them.

Tickets that have never been used can be reassigned to any other person in your Family & Friends list.

A possible disadvantage (more of a nuisance really):
If you give or sell an unused ticket to someone not in your Family & friends list, you would have to link to that persons MDE account so the ticket can be transferred to their account. You can remove them from your Family & Friends list after the ticket was reassigned.
