Linking special event tickets to magic bands

When I was looking to see when I could schedule my fast passes for my upcoming trips on August 21-24 and September 14-21 (which are both more than 60 days out) I noticed I have the capability of scheduling fast passes for the NEXT 30 days but only for Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. I believe this is due to my Unleash the Villains and Halloween party tickets that I have linked to my magic bands. This is leading me to believe that there may be a capability of scheduling fast passes using only those tickets. Anyone else having similar experiences or is this only wishful thinking?

Yes. From multiple reports, it appears to be possible.

You can book FP using just Harmabe Nights tickets so it stands to assume you can do so with Villain tickets too. I am planning to use a couple FP on our Harambe Nights trip to AK myself. Great way to get in more rides in the park

Thank you so much for posting this! We're going to MNSSHP Sept 26th and I've been waiting to see if I'd be able to book FP+ using just that ticket. I was all ready to add a day to our park tickets if there was no confirmation of this before my 60-day window, but now it looks like I can save my $32.

To make sure that the MK gate ticket readers do not accidentally subtract
a regular day from your park tickets, you might want to pick up a hard-copy of your Party Ticket at any ticket booth or Guest Relations, and use that plastic card ticket to enter for the party after 4PM (instead of scanning your MagicBands at the gate.)

Your FP+ reservations (if any) will still work that day.

Thank you. We're going to the party on our last day, so all of our regular park days should be used by then. I also have the plastic card tickets I received in the mail, which I plan to bring with me just in case.

I was told by the CM from whom I ordered the tickets that I was not to link them to my MDE account.

2. To be "safer," yes.

4. Yup. That was the case last year.
If you will do what you said in #2 above, you should not have problems
with the wrong ticket being accidentally used at the MK gates.

Robo - would it be after 4pm for FP+, or not till after 7pm? I know the party doesn't start until 7, but you can use your party ticket to enter the park starting at 4. I thought there was no FP+ available during the actual party hours, so was hoping use my party ticket to get FP+ for between 4-7pm that day.

Yep. We purchased the Halloween Party tickets and they were automatically linked to our MDE account, and that opened up the ability for us to schedule FP+ within the next thirty days despite not yet having any regular park tickets linked to our MDE account.

Last year the MNSSHP tickets were a problem, I know I had mine on my MDE and they had to fix it for me at guest relations. I can't even remember what the exact issue was, but I had some problem or other.

It would possibly be a problem for guests only entering a park after 4 for the party, who did not want a regular day used on a park hopper pass. (for APs, it would not matter). They could scan their magic band and it would subtract a day off the hopper, instead of accessing the MNSSHP ticket for park entrance. (which is why people here are saying not to scan magic band to get in for the party, to be safe).

Why do they say don't link event tickets to MDE, if it is ok to do so now?

yep. We purchased the halloween party tickets and they were automatically linked to our mde account, and that opened up the ability for us to schedule fp+ within the next thirty days despite not yet having any regular park tickets linked to our mde account.

So this confuses me
so what do we do if the MNSSHP tix do get automatically added? Still use those to go in the gate or use the MB? I would think the actual Hard ticket and hope that activates the(possible) FP's linked to it?

There will be no FP+ reservations made for after 7PM when the party begins.

1- If you want to use the MagicBand to enter the park, go to Guest Relations JUST before entering MK for the party and have the Party Tickets moved to the highest priority.
Then, when you use your MagicBand to enter the park after 4PM, the Party ticket will be the one used.

2- If you USE the actual Hard Ticket to enter the park, then you don't need to worry about the MagicBand at the gate.
Just use the MagicBand to access any FP+ that you reserved (and/or make FP+ on-the-spot at the MK FP+ kiosks.)
