Linking Resort Reservations

I am planning a trip next summer with my cousin and her family and my aunt and uncle. We would like to book three rooms in all at Art of Animation (standard). We would like all three rooms to be near each other, with two of them connecting if possible. How do I go about linking our reservations? Is there a way to do it online without the same person booking all 3 rooms? Or do you have to call and give the other two reservation numbers?

Also, there will be 8 people in all in our party. I know this at least used to be considered a "Grand Gathering". There aren't any discounts on packages or rooms for 8 or more people, are there?

I am a WDW veteran, but I've never booked more than one room at a time so I feel lost. Thanks for any help you can give!

have not heard about grand gathering in a while -but think you can still get one.

would definitely call - you want adjoining rooms - connecting rooms are generally for adults traveling with kids. so this is very iffy in your situation.

the most I think they will say is the same building. now they try - but AoA only has one section with standard rooms - the others are the suites.

if you are talking this year - then call NOW - some dates at AoA are already gone.

I meet a friend in WDW and we have our res. linked, don't need connecting rooms, but close by is good to have. There is no way to do this on line. Requires a phone call to reservations.

Call and link the reservations together. They will try to accommodate you as best as they can with your room requests and seating for dinning reservations.

As far as the grand gathering goes, I believe they have discontinued most, if not all, of the events.

You need to book 10 rooms to get a group discount.

Call the CRO and ask them to "link" your reservations. If you find a discount and there are enough rooms available for the discount, you can book up to three rooms on that discount (a pin works as well).

You can make connecting rooms your only request and they will try to accommodate you.

We were four adults and an infant in one room and myself and the 5 year old in the other room. We requested connecting rooms and got them. They wanted the ability to be able to check on the child during the night if needed, or if she needed them. Also, one of the nights, I babysat so both couples could go out for the evening. It worked out great.

Reservation number and the lead person on each reservation.
