Hi all!

Planned a very last minute trip to WDW with my daughter. We leave one week from today and are staying at Wilderness Lodge. As AP holder, I booked a discounted rate, but ended up adding an additional night a week later. At that point, in order to get the same room type (Woods View) with the AP discount I had to book a separate reservation for that additional night. I have called and requested that the reservations be linked, but the CM told me that they may still require me to physically check out and switch room. Has anyone out there be in this situation? Trying to figure out the likelihood that we would actually have to pack up and vacate the original room. Does NOT sound appealing on our last day there! Thanks for any input! :)

Tell them when you check in what the situation is and they will do their best to keep you in the same room (provided its the same type and everything). You will have to go down to the desk at a minimum to check in for the 2nd part and get a new KTTW card. But hopefully you can keep your room. No guarantees, but they try.

It's a CYA move on Disney's part. Just like when they tell a party of two they might be split up at a Disney restaurant. I'd say the chances you are going to have to move are slim. Very slim. I wouldn't worry about it. Mention it at check in and that should be it.

I think that the key word that needs to be used here is "continuing" instead of "linked". We've done exactly as you are wanting to do twice at the Caribbean Beach Resort and they made a notation (both before we arrived and when I checked in) that this was a continuing reservation. From what I was told, this increases the chances of you getting to stay in the same room the entire stay. By the way, we did not have to change rooms.

You will have to go to the front desk and check out from your one night stay and check back in for the additional nights. New keys will be issued as well.

I have had to do continuing reservations the last couple of years since the discount starts the day after I arrive. I have never had to check-out, only check-in the next morning for my package.

Thanks for all the replies! I called Wilderness Lodge today and spoke with someone at the front desk who was very helpful. She explained that they deal with this all the time and it shouldn't be an issue. She made a note on our reservations. Thanks for the "continuing" reservation terminology! I will be sure to use this term when we check in.

Just wanted to let you know for future reference that calling the number associated with a particular resort does not get you the front desk at that resort, but rather a call center. They answer the phone as if they are at the resort, but it is a call center (sometimes not even located in Florida) that is actually taking your call. As long as it's noted on your reservation and you mention it again at check in, you should be ok. There is no guarantee that you won't have to change rooms, but as others have said, your chances are very slim that you will have to move. Have a great trip :).
