Linking Reservation question

I have often linked reservations made with two use years using the email. I have never tried doing it on chat but I thought some had reported that it could be used to link reservations.

I may have been the one that said that but I had my terminology wrong. Via chat you can have them merge reservations, but not link.

I just tried this 5 minutes ago. I got excited when the chat feature popped up. I asked to have 2 reservations linked so I didn't need to change rooms and she stated that they can not do that on chat as they can only access one membership # at a time and I would have to call. That seemed odd, but I thanked her and ended the chat....

Did you try a second time? I think it might have been the cm you talked to.

I don’t believe anyone can actually merge the reservations together, I think it would just be adding notes to both reservations that it’s a continuous reservation. I could be wrong but I believe the chat cm could have done what the op was attempting to do.

Merging is when you have two reservation for the same room type in the same membership. Those can be merged.

This happens when I pick up rooms by stalking the website . When they are in two different memberships then you have to make the notes to link so you don’t have to change rooms...hopefully!

Yup! I have one currently same membership, same room type, different people joining us for different days so they can’t be merged either haha. Had to make sure everyone would have access to Stormalong bay while they are there

Use the online email system on the DVC site to contact MS: go to site, sign in, open "Help & Contact," and click on email us, and in member ID put in one of the meter ID's involved in the reservation. With a "few" weekend reservations, do one at a time (i.e., send separate emails for each weekend that has reservations from two membership numbers). In the explanation box, explain that you have two Member ID's, provide the number for each, and also the applicable reservation numbers and applicable resort and room categorie, and request that the reservations be linked.

Chat is also an option, but these days, like the phone system,it seems to be seldom working.

Thanks. Chat wasn't working. I sent an e-mail for my reservation in May with June '19 UY points. Going to wait on the Labor Day weekend reservation using the last of my Oct '19 points; maybe the wait times for MS will be less later. Not holding my breath but it'd be nice to add room requests to all the reservations, etc at one time.
