Hi. I have banked points from 2019 that I am trying to make a reservation for. The problem is that they are from 2 different contracts from 2 different resorts. Can I make a reservation for 3 days with one contract and 2 days with another contract and then have them linked so that we don't need to move rooms? Hope that makes sense. Thanks for any info you can share.

Yes, but you will need to call/contact MS to 'link' them.
You could transfer points from 1 to the other and book as 1 reservation.

Yes you can. I did the same thing earlier this week and the contracts had two different owners so we both had to be on the call with MS.

Will they allow a transfer of banked points? I know that banked points can't normally be transferred but not sure if that rule is different if it's the same owner?

I don't believe banked points can be transferred. The OP didn't say any were banked.

As above have stated , yes you can link them by contacting MS.
However , last month I had linked 2 reservations from different contracts for LV at PVB. It will still show up on your Dashboard as 2 separate reservations. Although , I did not have to change rooms, I did find that when days for second reservations started , that I could not charge to my Magic Band. I found this out at Epcot, went to guest services and was told they fixed it, but still unable to charge, went to another guest services in Epcot and was told could only fix at home resort. That evening went to desk at PVB and they had could finally fix it. Apparently multiple boxes have to be checked when linking reservations and although , they could see my credit card on account, I could not use it and only the home resort could fix it. I would suggest checking at front desk on arrival to be sure all boxes checked to link reservations.

Wow, how did I miss the banked points, must need more coffee. Sorry about that.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the info. I made 2 reservation with 2 different memberships numbers. The person i talked to said they can NOT guarantee that we will keep the same room? They said it was noted that it was a continuous stay and that we want to stay in the same room. He said there is a very good chance that we will keep the same room but it can not be guaranteed. Is that correct on Member Services side? I had to wait for 65 minutes to talk to someone so I don't really want to call back!!

They will try their best to keep you in the same unit. It saves them a full cleaning. Have great trip.

That is correct...they will not guarantee that you won't have to move but more than likely you won't.

They have to tell you that it's not guaranteed because there can always be the slightest chance that you will get moved. But in all of my stays where I requested a continuing stay, I have never had to move to another room.

This is what they will tell you just in case. But, I have done this a lot and it is never an issue.

Just be sure to stop at the front desk and double check they have it that way. If they don’t, that would be the time to get it fixed,

However, every time, they have us blocked as it does save on cleaning, etc. I think they require CMs to tell you because MS isn’t in control of room assignments so it just protects them.

If you have two separate reservations made with two contract, add "Continuing Reservation Res #123456789". to both of them. Hopefully you will be able to stay in the same villa for the entire trip.

Is there a way to link the reservations without having to call? For the same reasons as the OP, I've ended up with a few weekend reservations that are half on one contract and half on the other. I've heard rumors of horrendous wait times to talk to MS lately, is this something I could do online somehow?

I had the same thing where I had reservations under two different UYs that needed to be linked so we wouldn’t have to change rooms and I could only do it by calling.

The chat CMs through the dvc site can add those notes for you. I typically put in my room requests through chat unless I’m calling for something else.

Use the online email system on the DVC site to contact MS: go to site, sign in, open "Help & Contact," and click on email us, and in member ID put in one of the meter ID's involved in the reservation. With a "few" weekend reservations, do one at a time (i.e., send separate emails for each weekend that has reservations from two membership numbers). In the explanation box, explain that you have two Member ID's, provide the number for each, and also the applicable reservation numbers and applicable resort and room categorie, and request that the reservations be linked.

Chat is also an option, but these days, like the phone system,it seems to be seldom working.

I just tried this 5 minutes ago. I got excited when the chat feature popped up. I asked to have 2 reservations linked so I didn't need to change rooms and she stated that they can not do that on chat as they can only access one membership # at a time and I would have to call. That seemed odd, but I thanked her and ended the chat....

If your trip isn’t for awhile, send an email. That is what I do. I never call.

I have often linked reservations made with two use years using the email. I have never tried doing it on chat but I thought some had reported that it could be used to link reservations.
