Linking RCI booking to MDX

Lat week I was able to book Saratoga Springs through an RCI transfer. I'm trying to get this booking linked to my MDX account. Disney reservations is telling me they don't have my reservation in their system and that, in order to get it in the system, they need the Disney Confirmation number. RCI is telling me that they don't have access to Disney confirmation numbers and that my confirmation letter serves as the "confirmation". The person at RCI said they will fax my confirmation letter to Saratoga Springs and that I should call SS "in a few hours" to confirm that they received the fax and ask them to do whatever they need to do to get the booking into Disney's reservation system. I'm hoping this works.

Has anyone had a similar experience? And if so, what did you have to do to get the booking linked to MDX?

We are DVC members and yes a DVC reservation hooks up to MDE without any problems. I'm not sure how it works with an RCI exchange. You will probably get more answers if you ask on the DVC forums.

I stayed at SSR thru RCI exchange. It took probably about 10 days from my initial booking with RCI to getting the reservation in MDE. ....And just to be clear you need to be calling DVC, not regular Disney Reservation Center. Aside from this delay in getting the confirmation in MDE, everything else went off without a hitch. *be aware that SSR charges the $95 resort fee immediately upon check-in (without mentioning it to you.) I remembered that RCI told me about it, but i had wanted to pay it with a gift card and it got charged directly to my credit card on file on the first day.

Yes... at first I had spoken to reservations who said it takes 24 hours. But after I posted, I called again and they put me through to DVC, who told me it takes 7-10 business days. I feel better now. And, I was aware of the $95 resort fee. Thanks all.
