Linking purchased Magic Bands

We purchased a vacation package for our Feb 2016 trip so we will be sent a set of Magic Bands. If we decide to purchase Magic Bands with designs/characters, how do I go about linking the purchased Magic Bands to our reservation/tickets/Memory Maker, etc.? Thanks!

If you buy them online, you have to enter the MB Number in MDE App/Website

If you buy them in park stores, the'll do it for you at the till

The Band being linked once will link to hotel, tickets and MM in one go

If you buy in the park the CM at the register can link it or you can do it yourself after you buy.

To link any MB yourself you just go in MDE, click magic bands and cards, link a new one, and enter the unique code on the underside of your MB. Then it's linked. It's easy and takes about 2 min

The MB's they send you don't have the characters on them? I guess I thought each person got to choose a color, a character and have their name put on them. Is that incorrect?

there's a code on the inside of the band.
you just go to MDE , go to the magic bands and cards section, go to add a new one, and use the code to link it.
i just did it a few days ago with a figment magic band.

you get to choose from red, blue, green, orange, yellow, pink, or gray.
and yes you can put your name or a nick name on the inside of the band.
the bands you are sent for free are just plain colors.
there's no characters to choose from.
if you want a magic band with a design you would have to purchase it separately.

each person can choose a character to represent them on MDE. maybe thats what you're thinking of.

Just a plain colour. The characters and names are a new thing if you purchase from a shop in tomorrowland who (as of this past weekend) are offering customised bands.

If you're in the US you can buy them from the Disney Store. I think there's a link in MDE in the MagicBand section that will take you straight to the page, but not sure as I'm in the UK, so it takes me to the UK site. We can't buy them online
