Linking MP to other room guests

Quick question. We will be traveling with another couple to WDW who are staying in our room. The last time they came with us, I had booked two rooms using my points. Charging privileges were, I thought, only on my room. They had supplied their credit card when they checked into their room.

They checked out earlier than us and did not receive a statement under their door which they just thought it was because WDW had charged their card and they had left earlier than the bills were delivered. To my surprise, when DH and I left a few days later, our bill reflected not only our charges but theirs also. Guest services corrected the bill but it took three weeks to get the credit to our card.

Now with the magic bands and them being in our room, will this happen again if I link charging privileges to my account? I know that when you are staying as a family you can ask that any children do not have charging privileges. I don't want to do that since I know that they will want charging privileges but on their own credit card.

Advice/suggestions anyone?

I think the CM on your recent trip just made a mistake and set up the charging incorrectly.

I would mention your recent experience when you check in and then sometime on the day before you check out (or sooner if you tend to charge a lot), stop by the front desk and ask for a list of the charges so far. If anything is incorrect, have it corrected then before the card(s) are actually charged.
 
I had the same thing happen at BLT last summer when we had two families in a 2 bedroom villa. It is best to check your charges on your room statement the night before you check out so that the CM can fix charges if they are charged to the wrong person. We had to have a CM change our guests charges the morning of check-out - all charges for the 2 families were charged to our (DVC owners) credit card, even though we had linked separate cards to our magic bands when we checked in.

The CM told me that it is much easier to reallocate the charges the night before than the day of check-out.
 
Thank you both for your advice. The last trip I never thought twice about checking to make sure the charges were correct. It this time I know better.
