Linking Military Tickets to MDE

My DD and DSIL are joining us on our next trip. We're staying at POP and my DH and I already have APs. If they buy their tickets on an Air Force Base (saves $56/ticket off of Disney prices), how do we link those tickets to their MDE account to get Fast Passes at 60 days? Is it even possible?

Thanks for your help.

They can go onto their MDE account and link them under tickets. The travel office at the base will link them for them if they have their MDE info with them when they buy them. Make sure they order them early before the 60 day window because it can take awhile to get the tickets in sometimes.

One more question - Do the tickets need to be activated at the Park when we arrive?

I had to take them to guest services were they confirmed my military ID and then exchanged them for regular park tickets

When they go to base, they will receive a green ticket voucher. You enter the code on the back bottom left into MDE to book FPs. Once at the park, before the tickets can be used you must go to a guest relations window at a park or the TTC to show valid military ID and activate them. Active or Dependent ID is fine but someone military affiliated must activate the tickets.

Only the Armed Forces Salute tickets need to be activated at the park. Since you haven't said if they are buying the 4 day AFS tickets or MYW tickets from the base there is no way for us to know. Are they planning on going to the parks more than four days?

Just got back 2 weeks ago using the Military Vouchers. I went to Downtown Disney Guest Service and they activated them there :) We had EMH next morning so I didn't want to deal with that at the park so early in the AM. We linked them to our Magicbands at home for Fastpass planning.

I'm at WDW now and just activated military tickets yesterday and it took like 30 seconds. In the past it has taken 5-10 minutes. The guy didn't even look at our military IDs. He said they were in the process of cutting out the activation step and buying them and entering them into MDE was going to be all you need to do. But I don't know if that is true. And yes, enter the number from the back of the voucher and you can do your fast passes 60 days out.

Yes - they are buying 6-day hopper MYW passes - sorry for forgetting to add that part.

No problem. Most folks just assume that people are buying the AFS tickets which MUST be activated since they are not really a ticket but an exchange certificate. The MYW tickets do not need to be activated since they are tickets and not a certificate. Have a great trip!!!
