Linking MB - a new ticket to a used by someone else band

So we are going next month and staying at Shades of Green. My understanding is we do not get MBs.
Between my sister and I, we have enough MBs to link to the tickets for our party, but the MB were previously used be someone else (me, my sister or her DH). Can I link the tickets (brand new never used) to a used MB?

MagicBands can't be reassigned to other individuals. Those individuals that don't already have a MagicBand will need to get an Admission Card or optionally purchase a MagicBand.

The short answer is no, I don't think so. The band has your finger metrics assigned to it.

If MagicBands or other RFID enabled media are already linked to existing people on MDX, those people are the owners of that media.

It has nothing to do with finger biometrics -- those are linked to tickets, not MagicBands.

But you cannot reassign used MagicBands.

Can't do it. MB can not be transferred to another person. Your only option is to just use the ticket cards, or buy new MBs for each person in your group.

Right - but the magic band is assigned to the owner of those tickets. so, it's still the finger attached to that ticket that would keep someone else from using it.

But a newly linked ticket will have a new biometric linked to it.

That's why an MDE Profile can have the name Edited to a new person and that new person can use a MB that's also linked there. Even though it's a "old" MB, it links to a new ticket with a new biometric belonging to a new person.

So, then the op can use an old MB that was used by someone else for a new person ... as long as she edits the name in the mde?

As long as the new person is on the Profile where the old MB is linked. And really, the name doesn't have to be Edited.

And, some DISers have been successful in calling and asking an IT CM to move linked MBs to other Profiles. A Guest can't transfer a MB but a Tech can.

oh did not know I have tried to call and they said it can not be done but this was 8 or 8 months ago
