Linking magic band+ to Disneyworld

Does anyone know if you have to unlink the magic bands+ from my Disneyland app in order to put my magic bands on the Disneyworld app?
I keep being told to call Disneyworld and Disneyworld told me to call Disneyland. I was on hold for a while and got disconnected.

So just thought I would see if anyone here can help.

Can I just unlink the bands myself?

You should be able to deactivate them in your MDE app. It is an option when you pull up "Magic Bands and More".

What happens if you put them in your WDW MDE? Does it say it's already been linked?

I thought I linked mine and the Disney person said it wasn’t there. I will have to work on it again. I couldn’t link my husbands.
But I haven’t take them off of the Disneyland app yet.

You don't need to unlink a MB+ from the Disneyland app in order to link it to MDE. They are totally separate and the same MB+ can be linked to both.

I was told by disneyworld chat person I had to unlink them on Disneyland. And to call Disneyland. I called Disneyland and they said to call disneyworld. Spent so much time on this! Finally I called and received help from a wonderful woman who walked me through everything and she could see in her end. So we got it straightened out.

I'm not sure that's true. When we were in Disney World I couldn't use my MB+ for some reason so I went over to the cast member Umbrella and they said it was because it linked to my Disneyland app somehow. They fixed it for me.

Although I've never been to Disneyland, my MagicBand+ is linked to both the DLR app and MDE and I have no issues with the band at WDW.

You do not need to unlink from the Disneyland app. I visit WDW on vacation twice a year and am a local to Disneyland with a magic key. I have the same bands linked to both my MDE account and my Disneyland account. I don't even check them between visits since I know they are already in there.

I've got a Mband+ linked to both. No need to unlink.
WDW passholder and visit DL once a year.
