Linking land cruise package on My Experience App

Hi! My family booked two staterooms on Disney Dream in January 2017. Its our first cruise but we have been to the parks and stayed on property multiple times. I am getting conflicting info from the cruise line about our land portion. They are alternately telling me my cruise confirmation number will link my tickets/room to My Disney Experience App and then telling me these can't link and I would have to cancel my land portion & rebook to be able to secure fast passes & dining reservations. I've made 3 calls with no resolution and the confirmation number DOES NOT work. There has to be a way or why would anyone book land/sea together?! Anyone have suggestions? Thanks!!!

We booked both, but they were not linked, and the cruise does not appear or have any bearing on the My Disney experience app. You should have a confirmation number for your room, that's the one the tickets will be linked to, and that's where you will use the My experience app.
The cruise has a different app. They don't have any overlap.
You don't need to link anything.
Just book transportation with the cruise confirmation number - linked to the cruise. The hotels are fine with that.

I'm doing a combine trip in November/December and even though Disney calls it a package the land and sea portions are separate. You use the My Disney Experience with your hotel confirmation number to make your dining and FastPass reservations. You'll create a separate login on the DCL website to make any cruise related bookings and there is a DCL app for use on the ship but not for before.

I think it depends how you booked. If you booked through DCL as an official Land & Sea package, then I don't believe you can link to MDE. There have been reports of this causing problems in that it impacts ability to book FP+; I haven't heard it was fixed but maybe. Anybody can make dining at 180 days, no resort or tickets needed, though you won't have access to 180+10. However, most of us book the 2 parts separately and if so you can link the WDW portion to MDE. I don't believe the cruise can be added to MDE.

Enjoy your land & sea vacation!

We dealt with this. Land & Sea booked thru DCL will not give you a reservation # that is valid for MyDusneyEcoerirnce. There is zero overlap. Same with the park tickets. In the end, after lots of conversations and not being able to book FP or dining reservations, we were instructed by Disney Cruise to cancel the land portion of our trip and rebook it separately in order to make reservations and FP. That's what we did. It ended up costing us about $50 more but that's all. There really isn't any savings in booking Land&Sea thru DCL. Our trip is Dec/Jan.

I agree with Runner5. There is no real benefit that we found by booking land/sea through DCL. We always combine either a pre or post stay at WDW with our cruises and always just book them as separate entities. You can still get DCL transfers to make it seamless if you want but you can't link the land/sea confirmation to MDE.

I did finally get to someone by phone who was able to give me my room confirmation number so I was able to add that to my experience app. Yay! I'm so happy because I really wanted the fast pass ability. I really hope they figure out a fix or at least send the room confirmation numbers when they send the cruise confirmations. Thanks for the help everyone

I did mark an update below. I did finally get someone who was able to get me my land confirmation number and it worked! If they cancelled and rebooked I have no idea but they called me earlier this week with the right info. Enjoy your trip and thanks for the reply- it was frustrating for sure

When you booked the resorts via DCL, did they also let you add tickets to your package at the same time?

Yes they did. I had problems getting my tickets to show up in my Disney experience but it did eventually get resolved. We were able to reserve fast passes!

This is MADDING. We have spent 2 weeks on the phone since we made our final payment trying to get the reservation to work on My Disney Experience. To see that this problem has been going on for this long an a KNOWN issue to me seems unacceptable. They even told us on our reservation letter to GO TO MyDisneyExperience.com to book fast pass reservations. HOW is this not fixed??? Who do I contact to get to the bottom of it?

Don't do it. If at all possible, don't book land/sea together and try to link them. Just book them separately and manage them separately. We made the mistake of doing land/sea through DCL and it was a linking nightmare. Disney's systems do not play nice together, and few CMs know what to do. It took me 4 calls to finally find a CM who knew *** I was talking about just to link my night before cruise room to MDE just so I could customize our MBs. Book separately.

Would never book land portion through DCL! At one point, I thought they stopped doing this (years ago). It's ridiculous that they can't get this coordinated and they actually try and sell this as a package. Wasn't a big deal prior to MDE and fastpass+ but it is a huge issue now if you can't get them linked!! And I think it's crazy that they then can't help you once you're stuck in this crazy loop of hell!! DON'T DO IT!

We are doing a land and sea vacation and you would think they would do something to make it all work together but unfortunately they do not. We have them both booked separately and are handling them separately. We have all our fast passes booked and everything, we just had to not link them to make it easier and less complicated. I assume that the DCL and Disney programs must be different and that is why it is so hard to link them. As much as they advertise for land and sea vacation you would think they had a better system in place for these, or land sea vacation packages. Maybe one day, they are always trying to be better and try new things! Good luck and have fun!!
