Linking Friends and Family in MDE

So, DH, DS and I all have ONE My Disney Experience account. Each of us have profiles that I manage. My son wants to connect with his friends for his upcoming school trip and I can't wrap my head around how to make this happen. I see that there are three ways to connect with Friends and Family: 1) Find through my connected guests. 2) Enter their name and age 3) Scan their linking code. When DS pulls up the Linking Code on his phone in MDE, it has my name on it. If they scan that QR code, will they be connecting with him or me or all of us? Similarly, if they enter his name and age, they have to enter an email address to invite him to connect. Do they then use my email address (associated with the MDE account)? And if so, do they then end up connected to me, him, or all of us on the account? I feel like it should be smart enough to look for the specific profile with that name and age within that email address, but I'm not sure Disney IT is that advanced.... but I hope it is! I know that ultimately, I could connect with them and then they could find him through my friends and family list and then they could remove me, but I feel like that should be the last resort.

Thanks in advance. We were going to do some tests with friends but I thought I would ask here before we made a mess of things. I know I can't be the only person in this situation. I'd rather not have to create a whole new account just for him unless I truly had to.

If he's a managed profile, you'll need to initiate the linking (I think it's easier using the website if there's a resort reservation the friends are on). I think you'll actually have to be friends with the friends first and then the friends find your son through their connected guests.

Depending on the age of your son, it’s often easier for him to have his own acct. we ended up having to have my youngest create his own acct and then link as friends so he could be able to go off with his brother and be able to book LL and immobile order since I originally managed his acct.
