hopefully we will be going to WDW with our son, DIl and grandson in aug. (she's a teacher, so can only go in the summer:sad2:) we are so excited! grandson is 6.

we ahve never gone with anyone else before. I know if you are all booked on one package, you all need to do everything the same.. dining plan, hopper passes, etc.

but what if we go down a few days early? what if they fly and we drive? what if we take an earlier trip with, say, free dining, then when we get there, upgrade our tickets to annual passes? (then we will already have tickets for the august trip)

so much we don't know about this subject. I heard you can "link" reservations.

to me, this sounds like.. "ok, we're not on the exac tsame package, but we are together, and want out rooms close."

we would like adjoing rooms. or at least rooms on the same floor. ar, at the very least, the same area. (not sure which resort they want yet, but we wouldn't want to say, be in aruba, while they are in Jamaica at CBR, or in the 50s at poop when they are in the 60s)

we have decided no one wants a family suite. too much togetherness. but we might pass the grandson back and forth sometimes.

and helpful info.. hints... thanks!

We leave for Disney on Saturday. It will be me, DH, and DD in one room and my parents in another. We have seperate reservations, but they are linked together. When we made the reservations, we requested connecting rooms and ground floor. When I did online check in, those request were already on the form. We'll have to wait and see if we get the request or not.

You will need to make sure that both reservations have the "linked" notation on them. My mother has been with us to WDW the past two years and has stayed in a separate room. Once the reservations were made, we called and had her reservation linked with our's and then asked that our's be linked with her's. Both times, our rooms were right next door to each other.

I wouldn't think it would cause any problems with you going down before the second party does so long as the two reservations are linked together.

thanks for your replies. I'm sure if they choose the DDP, we'll get it, too. not so sure if we'll get the QS if they do, though, as it won't make a dif.
my ohter concern was that we night have iether annual passes or no expiration tickets from a previous trip, and they will need tickets with their package.
so not sure if everything will be the same with the 2 reservations.

Another family just decided to join us for our March trip. She called and booked it last night and linked our reservation numbers. I JUST got off of the phone to make sure our reservation was linked with her and it was and she told me it says that you are traveling with another family. Now I'm hoping I did all the ADR's right b/c we just booked them for a party of 8.
