Linked reservations and booking excursions.

It's our first Disney cruise and we are cruising with another family. We were told that one person can log in and book the excursions for the entire group and it would be charged to the card on file for each room. Is this correct?

Each room has a specific check in/excursion window, based on the highest Castaway Club level in that room.

If it's both yours and the other family's first DCL cruise, your excursion booking window opens at 75 days out.

If you are linked, I believe you can make the reservations for everyone. Not sure how that works with different payments for each room, however. Only time we've had multiple rooms, we were paying for everyone.

Yes, but you can only book for 4 linked rooms at a time. We had 6 rooms linked together on our last cruise and had to have them unlinked to make online reservations because the system only lets you have 4 rooms linked. Our TA then relinked them once we were done with reservations. As far as charges, you are correct. The activities were booked by a single person for everyone but the charges were to the individual rooms.

As a note, DCL excursions aren't charged when you book them -- it will be charged to your onboard account during the cruise.
