Linked Paper Tickets & MagicBands to MDE, but Disney says I still need to get RFID

Hi everyone,

I was able to link my paper tickets and MagicBands to the MDE App. I contacted Disney to make sure this was all I needed to do, however they say I still need to exchange my paper tickets for RFID tickets. Is this correct? Shouldn't my MagicBands just work? Thank you in advance for your help.

With everything linked and if your FP booking window is open, there is nothing else you need. Your MB will provide the link to your ticket and FP entitlements. The info you were given is incorrect.

I had no problems with my magic bands after linking them to My paper tickets in MDE. I had the paper tickets (actually both castmember tix and reservations for 'credit card style' tix) with me in case I had a problem getting in. Zero problems. Fast passes were linked as well.

If you have or are getting magic bands once the ticket is assigned in mde there is no need to have anything else

No "need" to have it done but always good to have the physical ticket as a back up. You'll need to convert to RFID for that.

Well, to be clear, you contacted a Disney phone CM.
The CM gave you an answer to a question about which that CM has no knowledge.
The phone CMs are not trained in anything regarding park operations.
Although some do know some correct procedures, it will be luck-of-the-draw as to whether the one you happen to contact will know them.

That's not to say that everyone here on the DISboards "knows everything" (read my signature.)

But, what IS true of the DIS, is that if someone (me, for instance) gives out bad info, it will only be a few minutes before 2 to 27 OTHER posters will come along to correct it.
That kind of instant "peer review" will get you much better answers.
