Linked family member frustration!!!

I am getting very frustrated and I hope it's just that I've done something wrong that can be easily corrected, and hopefully one of you Fastpass+ veterans will be able to help me out!

We are going to WDW in a few weeks. I have linked my parents' tickets to my MDE account. I can see both of them listed as family and friends (did the email request thing where they had to give permission to let me access their accounts) but when I try to make FP+ reservations for all of us, I can only do so for my mom. My dad doesn't even show up as an option. However, if I log into my mom's MDE account, I can see that my dad is there, with all of his info. I've been switching back and forth between our MDE accounts to try to sync up our FP+ reservations but it's becoming impossible to keep track of who is doing what, when.

Is there something I'm missing? I thought it was possible to manage everyone's itineraries from my MDE but perhaps I've just been mistaken. Any help is VERY appreciated.

Make sure everyone you have linked is listed as family not friend.

Make sure that you tick the box that says this person travels with me often.

If in doubt phone Walt Disney internet help desk. I don't have the number as I have a UK phone number for them but if you call 1-407-WDISNEY and ask for the my magic plus help desk they will help you.

The system is very glitchy particularly when linking tickets etc. I have had similar issues but the help desk can log in to your account and see what's going on.

If you have a U.S. Toll free number for Disney World they can probably put you through to the correct department. The calls aren't always quick.

How do I distinguish between family and friend? I don't see that as an option. I do have "travels with me often" checked. This whole process is very taxing!

Another question, if I change or make FP+ for my mom in my MDE, will it change for my dad too, since he is linked to her on her MDE? Or would just hers change, not his?

When you make changes it should ask you to select who you make changes for. By default it selects all people listed, but there is an option to scroll down and select individual guests.

I agree the process could be a lot easier.

If you have the option, I would recommend downloading the My Disney Experience app for iPhone or iPad.

Don't bother with the Android version, it's useless, but the iOS version seems to be better, it does work well on iPad.

Oh dear. We still have a toll free number in the UK but otherwise we'd have to call international to get through.

I have an iphone and ipad. I will try it on one of those and then call if I still can't make it work. Ugh.

The Disney IT dept is really helpful and will be able to fix your problem right away. I've always been the kind of person who hates to make phone calls like this but I've learned my lesson. They fix things that I couldn't have fixed on my own. We've had several trips with family groups and there have been problems connecting to almost all of them. The CM I spoke to said that this was the next area that IT needed to fix.

Did you do the email link process for BOTH your mom and dad, or just for your mom? Can you log into your dad's accout and see if he gave you all the same permissions as your mom did?

I would recommend the iPad app. It certainly works well compared to the other options.

If you still have difficulty I would call and they should be able to help.

Thanks everyone. I ended up having to call. Thankfully it was a quick fix. Not sure what they did but they made it so I can see my dad on my MDE now so it's all good.
