I have an upcoming trip that I am excited yet nervous about. I have a reservation for the 12-14 on premium and another for 14-16 on preferred. I have requested that these reservations be linked together and I have been calling daily for weeks to see about changing the premium to a preferred as we prefer preferred, but so far no luck. I will continue to call daily until we're there. First, is there anyone who happens to know they'll be cancelling those dates on preferred? Secondly, have any of you had this happen and had luck staying on the same site? What complicates this is there is a medical request of being close to a comfort station as well.

Tinan,

To be clear I've never been in your situation. But given the fact that you'll be there at a time when things get REALLY busy I would recommend you engage the services of a professional travel agent to try to get your specific dates and type of site. They can see into the system better to and view availability and their services should be at no direct cost to you. <no I am not a TA>.

Another thing to consider is there are two to three times as many Premium sites as there are Preferred sites. I know you said you'd rather be in a Preferred site the whole time but given the numbers it might be easier to pick up a Premium site for the later set of dates. So your request to a TA would be to look for both the Premium site for the later dates or a Preferred site for the earlier dates.

On your reservation (and also when you do the early checkin) you can request to be close to a Comfort Station.

The real driver here is how busy the Fort will be. When it's not full this would generally not be a problem. Your best bet is to use a professional TA, be flexible to go all Preferred or all Premium, and then enjoy your stay.

I've been at the Fort when it was REALLY busy and a camper in the Tent/Partial area (loop 1500) didn't leave as expected and all the Tent/Partial sites in loops 1500 and 2000 were booked/assigned/filled. When I went by on my bike in loop 1500 the Disney security were on the site looking at the car parked on the site trying to get in touch with the owner. I assume whoever was supposed to get that site in 1500 got upgraded to a different type of site. But since you'll be there close to the busy Christmas season, there may be less slack capacity for the Fort to work with.

Good luck to you.

Bama Ed
