link for getting the characters to interact

Hello,

I love this board-my DH thinks I surf on it now more than Ebay! I saw a great post a while back about how to get the characters (esp at the meals) to interact with you more (versus just wave and sign your book). does anyone know how I can find that post (I tried the search engine with no luck). Do any of you have some pearls of wisdom to share about this?
