Here's directions on how to link your DVC online account to a My Disney Experience account:

First, create a My Disney Experience account.

Create it using the e-mail address that you will want to use for the DVC member website and for all other online Disney use.

Go to DisneyWorld.com

Click on My Disney Experience near the upper right of the screen

Click on Create an Account

Click on Sign In

Type in the e-mail address

If you set up an account with Disney in the past using that e-mail address, type in your password. If you can't remember your password, click on Forgot Password

Follow the steps until you have set up a My Disney Experience account. It will ask you to choose security questions and provide answers, etc.

After you have set up a My Disney Experience account, call Disney Vacation Club at the same toll-free number you would use to make a DVC reservation by phone. Do this when you are sitting at your computer. Press 1 for Member Services, then 6 for Technical Support.

They will ask for your DVC account number, so have it handy.

Tell them you want to link your DVC account to your My Disney Experience account.

They will have you go to the DVC member website.

They will delete the user name which you had been using to log onto the DVC member website.

You will need to enter two codes. They will tell you what the codes are.

Once you’re done, you will start using your e-mail address to log into any Disney account online, including your DVC account on the DVC member website.

It’s really easy – but the DVC people told me that they key is to set up your My Disney Experience account BEFORE you call DVC member services.

(I know there will be people here who say the did it on their own quickly and easily with no problem. These instructions are for the people who haven't done it yet because they are afraid it will get messed up.)

Thanks for posting this. I am having a heck of a time with my MDE. Talked to someone on the phone that said they would fix it in 48 hours last week but it still has all the mistakes still there. One of our hotel reservations is missing and my name is not listed on any of the reservations but DH is on all of them twice. I am getting completely frustrated with the whole thing. :confused3

I am one of those having problems. I linked mine manually following the MDE online instructions on linking the DVC reservation. It said it linked it but it doesn't show up. I manually linked my dining reservations and they show up, but the DVC reservations does not. I just signed in a week later to try it again thinking I must have done something wrong but it says the reservation is already linked. If the reservation is already linked why doesn't it show up?

I'm hoping someone else who comes to this thread has had the same problem and can update me or I will just need to call MS. I don't want to bother MS if I don't have to but it's not looking to promising. :crazy2:

Well, I just answered my own question and figured out my own problem. I was logging into MDE with my email and password because as Best Aunt mentions, I thought that's what I was suppose to do. Different from what Best Aunt says and what I thought, I need to log into my MDE with my DVC log in information. Completely opposite. Interesting and strange.

Now I will need to see if I can add the dining reservation I have in the MDE I access with the email to the MDE I access with my DVC login.

Oh this is going to be confusing!!! No wonder I am having issues, my DVC and regular Disney logins are different and my MDE is with the regular Disney sign in, when I log in via my DVC sign in of course it tells me my reservations are already linked to name MMM BBBBB. I think I'll just wait until my vacation is over and link them up properly later.

Actually it can be either. My account is set up in the user name I have always used for DVC member site. I did not choose to use my email address that I had used for Disney.com account.

Works great and has for weeks now. I have linked reservations for everything and even testing Fastpass +. Already ordered my magic bands and made my selections.

My password did not change either.

Ugh. After 45 minutes of working with technical support at MS they can NOT link the two MDE's. So if there are magic bands and FP+ options offered to me for our upcoming trip I need to link those to the DVC logged in MDE. Any new dining reservations I make I will need to link to the DVC logged in MDE. However, I will always have a dining reservation hanging out in limbo land in the email logged in MDE.

Their best guess to what the problem is: I "claimed" the dining reservation before linking and "claiming" the resort reservation. When claiming the resort reservation it went under my DVC log in and now the two can't be linked.

I don't know if this will help anyone else out, but if this is true, link DVC first, then link dining reservations.

I think I confused people by my use of the word "link."

I was not talking about getting MDE to recognize a particular room reservation, DVC reservation, dining reservation, etc.

I was talking about the fact that I had to log into DVC with a "user name" which was not my e-mail address. After completing the process, MDE now knows that I am a DVC member, and when I log on to the DVC website I use the same e-mail address that I use to log into MDE.

Since MDE now knows I am DVC, it would recognize any discounts that I am entitled to because I am a DVC member.

One PP said, "I need to log into my MDE with my DVC log in information." Well, my MDE log in is now the same as my DVC log in.

No I know exactly what you meant and I want to actually link my DVC to MDE so it sees I'm a DVC member but alas user name from DVC and email login for the main Disney website are different even though both accounts use the same email address. I can sign into MDE with my DVC sign-in, AND my usual Disney signin, but my reservations are all linked to the regular Disney sign in so I can't move everything over to my DVC sign in... OYE that's a mouthful and so typical of the confusion that is Disney IT

I linked my reservations no problem but my premium annual passes were a different story. Mine showed up ok but my husbands said it expired a month after we activated them and it also says I can reassign his ticket. I called the numbers I was suppose to, talked to IT and all she said was oh that is so weird. I was totally unsatisfied so I called again the next day. After being put on hold numerous times (just like the day before) I was told that it would take some investigating and could they call or email me when they figured it out. Well it is a week later and nothing is fixed and I am still waiting to hear from them. I know we can take it to guest services when we go in April however I would rather know now what the problem is now than wait that long and find out.

So I still have two separate accounts, one for mde and one for DVC. In mde, I have been able to link my upcoming DVC stay by putting the reservation number in mde. I also have linked my families annual passes to mde. I am ok having two sign ons currently and will wait until the process matures before trying to go to a single sign on for both.

Okay...So when I did MDE my DVC login and other disney logins were already the same. So my MDE was again same.

I can see everything...reservations made through MS and ones I did through the Disney World website...So I am assuming this is good.

Where I am confused though is I don't see an indication that we are DVC members. I mean we are staying at a DVC resort our next trip but staying and being members are two different things.

So How do I know if DVC discounts are applied? or a membership linked? Since everything is there do I just assume I'm okay?

Go to disneyworld.com

Hover your mouse over My Disney Experience

Click on Sign In

Enter your e-mail address and password

At the bottom of the screen, under My Disney Experience, click on My Profile

Where it says About Me, click on the right arrow next to your birthday to get to the next window

Scroll down. Under my birthday, it says Affiliations
Disney Vacation Club Member
It shows my Club ID number. This is not my DVC member ID number or my contract number. It is another number which I don't think I've seen since I joined DVC.

Thank you so much.... Staring me right in the face. Nice that it was so easy for me. A benefit of not being creative with logins and passwords.

This is the same thing that is happening to me. They told me they would email me when our problems were fixed within 48 hours. That was two weeks ago and all the problems are still there. :confused3 Is it really that important to have a MDE account? Because it is giving me mega headaches trying to figure all this out. I haven't even linked our tickets yet as I'm afraid of what other problems are lurking for me.

How do you know if yours is linked already? I mean all my reservations I make through DVC show up on MDE. Doesn't that mean it's already linked? I don't know what I would have done to link it, though. Don't remember actively linking anything. Does this have to be done to use FP+?

My reservation was showing in MDE but it wasn't linked. Look back in this thread they explain how to go into my profile and see on the very bottom in your DVC account is linked.

I had the hardest time linking mine. The first CM at Member Services kept telling me to log in with my member name and after an hour I gave up and called back after work. That CM knew what she was doing and had me link with my email. Now I have two MDE accounts, but will just stick with using the email log in.

My DVC Username and MDE username are the same and when I log in using that information, all of the WDW reservations appear, no problem. It also shows my tickets, passes, etc...

The item that never shows up, nor can I even link it OR SEE IT, are my ADR's... I try to 'manually' link the dining reservations using my confirmation number and my name and it does not work, as it says that is not the person who the reservation is linked to...

If you made the ADRs by phone with DVC MS, they usually don't put your e-mail and phone number on the ADRs. Without this information, you will be unable to link the ADR to MDE. You will need to call and have this information added to the ADR.
