Link 2 reservations then add DDP

I'm renting points to friends and they decided to add a night to their reservation. I booked as a separate night because I didn't want to lose any part of their 1st reservation. They want the DDP for all 7 nights. Can I have MS link the 2 reservations then go online to book 1 DDP? Or does the linking just note it's a continuous reservation and I'll book the DDP under each reservation number?

If the reservations are both for the exact same room category (resort/size/view/etc), you can ask MS to consolidate them into a single reservation.

Yes, they are. So after I have them consolidate will there just be one reservation number for the guests to manage?

If there is still availability for that single night, you could cancel that and then modify the original reservation to extend it by one night.
