Hello all! Leaving for our trip in a few days. Watching our mobile wait time apps, it appears the lines for most of the popular attractions are insanely long. Any real world reports?

The lines app will give you current real world eports all the time.

But, yes, the lines for the popular rides are insanely long in the summer.

Oh yes they are insane was just in MK on Tuesday the 12th. While we waited in line with my 9 yr old to meet Merida my oldest took off to ride SM. She waited in line for 135 min's to get on SM!

I am probably in the minority...but an insanely long line does not bother me under certain circumstances.

DH and I went to Disney on our Honeymoon. We arrived on the 4th of July, needless to say, it was a very busy week. We waited in standby over 2 hours to ride Splash Mountain. I would say our average wait per ride was probably an hour. We didn't care! We had a great time.

Fast forward 8 years and 3 kids and that would be some kind of torture  Now we travel when it's not as crowded.

But if you are single adults traveling, a line can be good fun! Most queues are themed great and you can eavesdrop on lots of interesting conversations or have one of your own! Enjoy the quality time :)

Are you able to get any feedback on FP? Are they running out super early, too? Leaving in 3 hours~!

The lines are insane! We have been here since Sunday, tonight it was raining for awhile and we went to HS and even with so many people clearing out of the park, TSM was 120min, I couldn't believe it. I like TSM but no shot I was going to wait that long!

I'll be there the last 2 weeks of July... so I guess I'll have no luck with the crowds
:sad2:

In regards to FP we were at soarin at 10am this morning and the wait was 60min and fast passes were for a return time of around 3-4! So I'm sure they are running out early

I was at HS tonight, too, but the wait times were exaggerted. TSM was listed as 70 and we got through the line in 20. Star Tours was listed as 25 and took about 5.

MK was crazy this morning. I was amazed at the people filing in at 11am on an EMH morning!

I was wondering that! Because TSM the line wasnt out the door but I know how the line wraps all around inside! I didn't want to risk it lol! But yea we got right on STtar tours too! It's like 50/50 chance with the lines - some are crazy, others are manageable

The advice I can give to you is GET FASTPASSES! They will save your life. ONly use them on "must do popular attractions" such as SM, TM, SplashM, pepter pan, small world, ect - whatever you guys decide.

Hope this helps and have a magical time in WDW!!!!! :cool1:

I was in the world memorial day weekend and noticed that the posted standby times were consistently waaaaaay off. I wonder if Disney is purposely over-estimating posted wait times so people won't cut it close and get in a line conflict with a fast pass return time.

Some examples we experienced with posted/actual....Jungle Cruise 15/walk on, Splash 15/walk on, Haunted Mansion 25/10, Snow White 35/15, RnR 30/10, Star Tours 25/5, Nemo 15/walk on, Living with the Land 10/walk on.

I think it is harder to keep those estimates right when the lines are shorter. The difference between 25 minutes and 10 minutes is 15 minutes, but so is the difference between 135 minutes and 120 minutes, but the first error seems so much worse.

And the fastpass factor can get you too, even if the line does not appear THAT long from outside. But I have found that the wait time on that one is usually exaggerated.

Lines are long!! We were in Epcot yesterday and Sum of all Thrills was 60 minutes, character meet the fab 5 was 55 minutes, Soarin was 120 minutes...that was all around 10:00 am. Fast passes for Soarin were gone before 1:30.

Splash Mountain is having sensor issues and apparently shuts down 3-4 times a day.

In AK on Wednesday, we arrive around 7:35 for Early extra magic hours starting at 8:00. DH ran to EE to get FP, met us at Safari, we rode, walked Panjanini trail, got FP for raft ride, saw bug's life, had ice cream, rode raft ride, let the kids play in Dino playground, and left the park around noon.

That was our best morning! We loved rising the safari early in the morning. The animals were all eating and active..it was great!

If you get their prior to park opening and utilize FP, it won't be too horrible.

I'm sure the wait times take in the FP returns. I wonder how many people have FPs and do not return to use them? The wait times have to take FP into consideration. That is why you can be in a line that does not seem too long, yet it can take forever as the FP line continues to empty out and the standby line is just standing.

What we have noticed is when the posted wait time is high less people will get in line making it over estimated, a short wait time posted means more people getting in line and the wait time underestimated. The red cards only go out so often too, which makes the posted wait time accurate at first and less as time goes on between cards.

I would run headfirst into a brick wall, over and over, before waiting on any line, for anything for 135 minutes. Think about it- with waiting times like that you'll be lucky to get 2 or 3 big rides in, during an entire day at the parks.

There is no way I would even consider going in the summer, for those very reasons. If it's a matter of waiting on tremendously long lines, dealing with the heat, shoulder to shoulder crowds, or not going, I'll pick not going 10 times out of 10.

We were at HS on Monday June 11th and the wait time for TSM was stated to be 140 minutes. There was no line outside so, we decided to get in line for it and were on the ride in 25 minutes. We have noticed this with several rides this trip. We rarely waited what the sign said.
