For anyone who went to US/IOA the first week of August last year, can you please post whatever wait times you remember.

We are debating on or off-site. With 5 days to spend, we wouldn't mind a few lines, but FOTL access may be worth the extra money.

Thanks!

Patti

I wasn't there in August, but with school out and it being prime vacation time you can bet it has to be crowded beyond belief. The staying onsite Express access will be worth every penny. I wouldn't do it any other way unless I went in October, & that's debatable. We were there in January & the Express access was worth it to us then. They are always running onsite hotel deals especially with the Fan Club & Entertainment cards. Or try travelocity or Hotel Kingdom. Let us know what you decide.

Got the best rate offer from hotelkingdom.com ($135 a night at RP).

Choice now is all 4 nights onsite, or stay offsite first night to save some money. Plane doesn't land until 4 pm anyway!

BTW---I am from Montclair, NJ!

I would stay all 4 nights. I believe check in isn't normally until 3pm anyway. Then you will already be there for the morning and can start enjoying your day. Otherwise, you will check in the day you get there at the first hotel, and then have to move and check in again at the RP. Too much wasted time.

The parks are open until late in the summer, so you can either relax at the hotel after you get settled, or visit the parks. The next day when you wake up, since you are already at RP, you an just enjoy for the rest of your stay.

You can also go to the other hotels (HRH & PBH) and use their pools. HRH & PBH both have really cool pool slides.

Did you get park tickets yet? If not, Universal online has a 5 day bonus pass that's a great buy. Details: https://tickets.universalstudios.com/USRG/us_store_secure2.jsp?merchant=UO

Wow, Montclair! I'm just up the road a piece in Franklin, NJ. Small world this message board is!!!!

I didn't know you could pool hop! This is GOOD news!!!!!!!

I thought pool hopping was a nice feature too. We didn't have enough time to try the others though. Had a great time on the HRH slide. I was definately a big kid when I was going down the slide!!
