We won't be staying at a Universal hotel so we won't have FOTL access. We're used to fastpass at Disney so we don't ever wait in long lines. What can I expect at Universal in September? Will we have no choice but to wait in long lines or is there a fastpass type thing for those of us not staying at a Universal hotel? TIA! :D

Semptember isn't very busy especially as you get toward the end of the month, but they have express pass machines (similar to Disney's fast pass.) You put in your ticket and it gives you two choices for a return time, you pick one time and it prints out your express pass. It is free. But just like Disney, many of the express passes are gone by the afternoon.

November, in my opinion, is the best month to go. No crowds and the weather is cooler. It doesn't get busy at all in November until the day after Thanksgiving. Nov. 16 should be perfect!

sorry to jump in, but how are october crowds?? we wont be staying for the halloween activities at night. going 10/20-10/27. thanks for all your help

Great weather in those months. October is a different story. It's during HHN, so it can be very busy even during the day.

is october so busy that i would need to buy one of those front of the line pass books?? we are not staying onsite and are only going to universal studios.
