DH just got a new smart phone. We've been looking for a WDW lines app for our next trip. After reading through the Best Lines App on the Theme Parks forum we hunted for the Disney Parks Mobile Magic app. Apparently you can't download it if you live outside the US. (??????) What lines app have Canadians found that they can download and include FP times? TIA.

You actually can download Mobile Magic in Canada now if you have an iOS device, Disney finally added it to the Canadian iTunes store a little while back. It's free and features actual park wait times from Disney, definitely worth the download.

My DD will be glad to hear that. Unfortunately our phone is a Galaxy (android).

Does it use data in the parks? Data roaming is so expensive, and so are the roaming plans :(

I have the Lines App from Touringplans, because I have a subscription, but afraid to use it at the parks due to roaming data costs.

It does use data. Last time we were at WDW we got a US data plan from our carrier, used data sparingly in the parks (just for Twitter mainly) and it cost us about $20 for the week.

The app DH was able to find most easily was the UT Disney World wait times app. Seems fine, except it doesn't have FP times. I couldn't help but laugh when the app told me how many million yards away from Space Mountain I was.

I use lines from touring plans as well. We are using our ipod though instead of cell phones though. From my understanding "CSR" now has free wifi. I have my days planned mostly though so prob wont even bother checking it.

I can't seem to find it in the itunes store. There are other similar apps but I have not seen "Mobile Magic"

You have to search iTunes with your phone -- not iPad. I have it on my phone. Search "Disney mobile magic". It has a Tinkerbell icon.

This is probably a really dumb question...

But I have a "non-smart" phone :rotfl: so the whole "data" thing baffles me.

Our DD has an iPod. We're able to download the Mobile Magic to it no problem.

Can we use it in the parks? Or will it not work because it needs wifi to work?

I'm also new here, so I have no clue what CSR stands for!

We tried to download it to our iPad last night, but no go.

I wonder how iTunes knows it's an iPad and not an iPhone, since it's all going through iTunes? Also, someone down below said they downloaded it to their iPod, so why do you think that is the case?

We are so frustrated, as we have Blackberries, and there aren't many Disney apps for it, but we were hoping to download to our iPad to use while in our DVC villa.

Very confusing, Tiger

Well, maybe I lied! LOL

I've gotten the app downloaded, but for the life of me, I cannot sync DD's iPod properly.

I have the Mobile Magic checked off, but it won't add it to the iPod. Sigh.

Off to try touring plans!

Mobile Magic just released an update today, says it's now compatible with the iPod.

We have this one too - plus they have one for Universal ;)
