I am soooooooo almost ready to take the plunge and purchase my first DVC contract for SSR I have read every post on all the boards and done so much pre-planning that my head is spinning at times, but I have one question that I can't seem to find an answer to...
I know that mousekeeping at the villas is different when you're there as a member, but I was wondering about the quantity of bathroom towels provided in a one bedroom villa. I know that I will have laundry facilities available, but don't want to have to do laundry every day of my vacation
I would really appreciate any information anyone might have...

I know what you mean. I would hate to spend twenty grand on DVC only to find out that i would have to hang up wet towels in order to use them more than once.

Last time I was there, we had four bath towels at the shower and one more at the tub. Don't remember how many hand towels.

Do towel animals count?

You get 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 4 wash cloths per bathroom. If you are in a 1 bedroom or larger, you can just throw them in the washer and then into the dryer in the room. In a studio it's more of a pain because you don't have an in room washer/dryer. Trash & towel service is provided on day 4 (check-in is day 1) for stays 7 nights or less. 8 nights or more, they do a full cleaning on day 4 and trash & towel on day 8. You can purchase additional service.

What if you have five or six people? Is it possible to get an extra towel or two? It's one thing to reuse your own towel for a few days, but sharing a towel with someone....eww!

The limit in a studio or 1 bedroom is 4 people, so there are 4 sets. A 2 bedroom will have 2 bathrooms, each with 4 sets of towels (so 8 sets). You can purchase a extra set of 4 for $6.

You just assign towel bars to each guest using that bathroom. That's what we always do.

When we stayed at Vero Beach, we had plenty. Plus, our mousekeeper was really nice; we'd run into her in the hallways everyday. After a couple run ins, she asked us if we needed anymore towels or anything. We didn't, but it didn't sound like she was going to charge us - she was just being nice.
