Posting in the Theme Park Community since it was not at a Disney Park, but relates to a common annoyance at parks in general...especially WDW where peopel think you can just send one member to wait in SB while the rest the group goes eat or rides something else, then join up in line towards the end.

While at a Six Flags park on Monday, I was in line for the park's most popular coaster...not a huge crowd that day, but the coaster was down to running one train after some technical issues so the line had built up be about a wait of 45 minutes (honestly the longest by 3 times of any other line...was a nice quiet park day, most other rides were walk-on).

About halfway through our wait in the narrow que two 14-16 year old girls (looked like twins) slid past me and my daughter before I could say anything...they got past two more families before a guy in front of them refused to let them pass. They said their brothers were already up at the top of the structure and they needed to meet them to ride...the guy said "no, that's line jumping, you have to wait like everyone else."

Wasn't long before their brothers were leaning over calling out to them and they were saying rude things about the guy (in front of his 6-8 year old daughter). After about another five minutes, a guy comes up behind me and says "hey, I'm not cutting, I just need to talk to someone, I'll be right back down I swear."

Turns out it was the two girls' father who proceeds to yell at the guy for not letting them pass him in line..."they are just girls, why are you being a ****?" The guy blocking the way says, "so why do they deserve to get in front of MY daughter?" This goes on for another few minutes before they reach the point where the people that paid for the "Flash Pass" system (a waste of money on that day) would merge in, and the girls' dad tries to get the staff member managing the entrance to make the guy let the girls pass to join their brothers at the top. She basically told him that they had to stay where they were in line, and that HE needed to get out of line and leave the man and his daughter alone. I didn't hear an "or else" but he seemed to get the hint and left quietly and the girls didn't say another word the rest of the wait.

It was nice to see people using the "I'm just meeting my family" excuse get stopped. Had I seen them behind me I might have wanted to stand my ground too, it would have been easy to just hold on to the rails on each side to block the way, but once they were past me I am smart enough to know it would have looked bad to try to shove ahead of teen girls.
