Line holders

Multiply this by every person they pass in line. Better they wait together instead of making hundreds wait longer, its rude.

I do not disagree it is rude. Of course it is. So is taking flash photos on dark rides, not showering when you are on holiday, cutting in front pf people at the condiment bar, smacking gum loudly, and the list goes on. You have to decide if it is worth getting worked up over and allowing it to affect your good time or if you are going to move on. It is easier to move on.

I am 100% willing to go out of line to get popsicles and water and be allowed back in the line to give it to my kids and then not ride, if that would make everyone feel better.

From now on, why not just bring water with you into line as you all enter together? Simple.
Kids eating melting Popsicles in a line queue just seems like a sticky mess to me. :scared:

Because like I said earlier, I am imperfect and not always prepared for every situation. Sometimes I forget, hop out, and come back.

Honestly, I am just playing devil's advocate here. We don't even go to WDW anymore. Last time we went was after our cruise, and the kids hated it and said they never wanted to go back. We do DL sometimes, or will cruise or do Aulani. I just think it's a silly thing to get bent out of shape over. Plus all the math needed to calculate just how much of an inconvenience it is.

Why are the choices only agree or "get worked up"?

There is ZERO chance anyone in my family would be eating a Popsicle or Mickey bar while waiting in queue. I'll have to leave my spot just to wash my hands after, then I may have to cut in line.

I think it depends on your wait threshold too. We won't get in a line longer then 20 minutes, so for us, it's easy to stick it out and wait.

I wonder if there are people going in and out of the FEA queue? A couple of hours is a long time to wait. :crazy2:

So you don't even go to WDW anymore but stalk WDW boards to troll people?

Shoot. My bad. I totally thought this was for all Disney Parks. sorry! I thought this topic applied to all parks. Again, my apologies! I have planned our DL and cruise trips on the boards and am currently using it for our Aulani trip.

eta- I honestly thought I was just sharing my point of view on the topic.

Fwiw, if you were in line and have to leave for any reason (potty, water, snacks, phone call etc) and then rejoin your party, that's cool. If you were never in line and try to join a placeholder, that's rude.

You would think it is that simple, wouldn't you?

I am only saying this last thing on this subject. It is mostly for all those who have not read through this thread and are getting on the defensive.

I have no problem with those who need to leave the line to take their child for a potty break. Most others in this thread feel the same way.

I do however have a problem with those who put one person in line so that their more than capable family can rest in the shade and not have to wait in line with the rest of us.

I do have a problem with those groups that decide to do two things at once and then have half the group show up at my line and not have to wait like the rest of us did. They just go right to the front of the line.

We are all the same when it comes to waiting in lines. If someone has a serious health issue that is obviously an exception. All our time is important. Yours is no more important than ours. Please be aware of those around you also on vacation and stop and think for a second on what the right thing to do by them would be.

I think that this post sums the entire thread up in regards to the those of us who dislike the line cutters. Most of us are okay with the "thing that happen" in queues, btu have little tolerance for the "My time is more valuable" mindset in queues.

How do parents get onto, say, an hour's line in Florida and not have water with them? Or snacks?

I absolutely get the potty break thing, particularly with young kids. But I think that your intention when getting on a line is to stay on that line, to be prepared for what your family is likely to need during the span of that line.

I don't really get the leaving the line for snacks and drinks, either. We always have water, and my child will survive without a snack until the ride is over. I don't tolerate whining, and I certainly don't tolerate whining at Disney (or any amusement park or activity that is a privilege). DD has a choice: she can wait on line to ride and have a snack after, or we can get out of line and have a snack, but if the line is too long I'm not getting back on it. And if the whining continues, we can leave.

I don't understand the snack thing-- No, not the act of leaving the line. The fact that this is apparently extremely common. I'm a FL AP. 29 trips, probably waited in hundreds of lines and I've never seen someone push past me with snacks before. I've never even seen people eat in queues. Didn't know that was such an epidemic lol. Never noticed.

Just a thought, and I definitely don't want to put any fuel on the fire. :jester:

But what if Disney, during the peak season for tour groups, implemented some sort of que-waiting-system? Like Fast Pass, but the other way around... :teeth:

Ok, hear me out. :teacher:
Dig out the old FP kiosks and one from the tour group takes a ticket with an assigned time slot. Then they're welcome to return at that time to sit together. :rainbow:

No priority in line, if there's an hour and a half in Stand By, then that's the time they get. But then with a seperate entrance to board and ride, and hopefully doesn't bother other waiting guests, or holding up in line. :crowded:

:tinker:

A good idea except for one issue, that group can then all get in another line elsewhere and get a FP that nobody else can get. If there was a way to prevent them from getting in other lines it would be great.

Hi! :wave2:

Well sure, there are always loopholes to every situation.

One thing they could do to "minimize" the risk of playing that trick could be something like this:

If you want to use the Tour Group Waiting service, all go to City Hall and sign up on the same tour group. (scan tickets or MB's). Then only one person can use the Tour Group Waiting kiosk at the time, and no one from the group can fetch FP's during the wait either. You're "virtually" all in line until your time comes up. :grouphug:

I was saying they could hop in a standby while waiting 90 minutes for their group return time, i wouldnt have an issue with normal FP as anyone else has equal access to those. For this to work they couldnt gain an extra advantage, but it would be nice if not all 50 needed to be in line disrupting everyone else.
