We will be going to Disney end of October and our dd is doing well with potty training, but only gives a 2 min.warning when she has to use the washroom.

If we are half way thru a line (4 of us) and if my wife or I have to take her to the washroom, are we able to rejoin our party in line or is that not acceptable?

Yeah people do that all the time.

It's not as if you have one person in line and then all of a sudden 15 more adults\teens show up that are with them 20 minutes into the line. (Yes I have seen this)

The majority of people, with or without kids, actually do understand. Don't be alarmed by comments to the contrary that may appear on this thread. It is the exception rather than the rule for people to be unreasonable about this and as the PP said, with a parent and a little one it is hardly as if it makes any difference to the wait time.

Go and enjoy yourself.

When you are in the park you will be fine, but you are going to get crucified on here.............popcorn::

I think its completly fine, as long as you don't bring 5 other people back with you haha. I don't see a problem with it, its not like your making the wait longer or anything.

This should be fine. It is hard potty training and then going on a trip. We had the same problem with our last DD. Luckily it only happened once or twice. I just kept making her try to go every couple of hours and especially if a line was longer than a 30 min wait. Good luck with the training. Have fun.

I have never had issue with this, most people won't. If a child has to get out of line with an adult then most people won't have a problem with it, most people have kids or remember being one. It is issues where people send runners for fast passes while another waits in line or a big group(4+people) gets in line with one or two people that have been holding the line.

I don't agree with doing it but don't want to argue. What I will say is good luck doing it. Most of the lines go inside and in the time you are gone to the BR will be quite aways from where you left. How do you plan on getting past 100 people in tight quarters? it can be very hard to rejoin a line on a lot of the rides.
and past 100 people who didn't see you leave and may not like it?

I would say just go before every long line.

If she's only giving you a two minute warning, I'd put her in a pull up for the vacation! Depending on where you are in the line it may be impossible to exit easily. Or to get back to your family.

You might want to really encourage her to try going to the bathroom before you get in line, especially if there is much of a wait.

If for your own personal peace of mind....

Stop by the restroom before getting in line and
before eating (if only to wash your hand)

A phrase that always got a giggle out my little one was
"time to empty our tanks"

Continued success with the potty training
and have a Magical Trip :wizard:

Alright, this thread is far to civil to be about this topic.

Somebody, please, misinterpret the intentions of the OP and turn this thing into a 13 page break down and Hatfield-McCoy type feud.

Sorry, the wife is out of town for three weeks, so I need something to keep me amused.

Your wife is out of town and you're on the disboards? That should be the source of a debate right there.

Admittedly, but the 16 month old, who is resisting napping right now, refuses to be my designated driver again.

Yes, you'll be fine. There are a few people around here who appear to take great exception to this common-sense approach, but we've never seen it be an issue in the actual parks. Most people we've encountered in real life are somewhere between fully and very understanding of the bathroom habits and needs of young children.

Have fun!

Go to the community board and watch the Axe commercial that is being discussed in the "I'm speechless this is allowed on TV". It is good for laugh! (both the commercial and the thread)

Remember to watch the commercial as if you still find the humor you thought funny at 14 funny now. Oh wait you are male, you probably still do.

It's fine. I hate doing it and I just tell my kids to hold it but sometimes they just gotta go.

Like someone previously mentioned, it sucks when a bunch of people hop in line when someone they know has been waiting. I've seen people get angry when this happens and I don't blame them (because I do too.)

I think it's fine to excues yourself for a few minutes for a potty break.
