Lindsay Lohan Had An Appendectomy!? Yeah, Right.

So, on the Entertainment news, they showed Lindsay Lohan leaving the hospital hours after she had an appendectomy. She was walking out like she just went in for a bandaid. Then, the news said that she went out partying later that day!?

Yeah. Sure. Right after an appendectomy.

I had an appendectomy (laparascopic) last year and can tell you that there's no way anyone can go out and party after that kind of surgery! I could barely stand up straight and only left my bed if I had to! I was so out of it leaving the hospital, too.

What gives?! Anyone else walk out of surgery upright like it was nothing and go out partying after their appendectomy!?!? I guess she had to come up w/a more elaborate ruse for calling in sick to her latest film?!!?

OK -- before anyone asks why I care or how it's my business ... I really don't care and, while not my business, she's a public figure, so she lends herself to speculation, etc. I just don't understand how someone having major (and, yes, an appendectomy is considered major) surgery can look so utterly amazing hours afterwards. That's what makes me doubt her story. I looked like death warmed over after my appendectomy!

And, if she didn't have an appendectomy (which I'm guessing is the case), why lie about it!? It's not like she wouldn't get found out eventually.

I saw that today and thought the same thing. I had an appendectomy two years ago and I couldn't move for at least a week. There is no way she was out partying if she really had a major surgery the day before.

Honestly, I would not be suprised to read soon that she's dead of an overdose. So sad

Kim -- I know what you mean. It'll either be an OD or a car crash. And, of course, there will be this huge inquiry and they'll say it was paparazzi chasing her yet they'll fail to mention that she was over the legal limit w/her blood alcohol levels.

She seems so out of control.

I think that she was just tired from partying and needed an excuse to get out of her day of filming so they concocted this insane story. Remember how much trouble she got into on her last film for missing days, etc.!? I suppose a director would have to say "Gee, appendectomy is serious -- you take a week or two off to heal".

How can people not see through this!?!?

Not to defend Ms. Lohan - cause I'd probably bet that her visit was OD related - but I had an emergency appendectomy while at WDW 3 years ago, and it wasn't too bad.

I was 57 - much older than she is- and mine was done open not lap. I had it at 10 pm on a Wed. night. Went home (back to the hotel) at noon the next day and went to CP (and walked the whole way) on Friday. I was very, very tired the next day, but I looked & walked pretty normal.

It wouldn't surprise me at all that it's a made up story. But I will say that when DH has his appendix removed (around 2am) he was fine and discharged later that morning--actually left the hospital after lunch. I don't think he would have been up for partying, but he really did have a very quick recovery.

I had a hysterectomy two years ago....much more major surgery than an apendectomy. I was up and wondering upstairs to use the computer room the very next morning. People recover at different rates and she is pretty young....so I beleive it is possible. I had my gall bladder removed once...went in, had the surgery, went home that afternoon and was back to school the next day. Most people had no idea I had surgery.

Frankly, I don't really care. What Linday Lohan is doing is hardly any of my business! I tend to feel sorry for her and other young celebrities always having to live under a microscope.

Wow! I am shocked! When I had mine done, I would've never made it through anything those first few days! I remember it took me a good 3 days before I was "upright"! I remember your posting on my thread when I had my appendectomy thing going on and remember this story! Difference is that I'd guess you were in no mood to go clubbing and dancing hours after your appendectomy a la Ms. Lohan!??! However, I'd guess that you took things at a slower pace than usual?! And, certainly, you weren't clubbing until 2 am the same day you had your appendectomy?

I am in no way a fan of Lindsey Lohan............believe me!!!!!! I had a C-section with my son and was mopping the floor within a week! I think some people just recover better than others! The day or two after surgery was pretty bad, but by the third day I was getting around pretty well. I always thought a C-section was a little worse than a laposcopy surgery ,
maybe I'm wrong.

Wow -- I am really surprised at how many people were up and around the same day of surgery (inc. Ms. Lohan)! I wonder if b/c I am so petite (5'2", 90-95 lbs) has anything to do w/my rate of recovery?! I was out of it for 2 days from the meds alone!!! All I wanted to do was sleep! I've had 2 laps. for endometriosis and one for the appendectomy and my results were always the same when it came to how I felt.

I guess that I am either a slow healer! Usually, I am a tough cookie and can handle anything. But, those laps/appendectomy really took it out of me!

Yikes! I hope not. She's so young. She is a mess though, or appears to be in most photos you see of her. I hope she gets it together. She's been blessed with a lot of natural talent.

At my age I take everything much slower. Even without surgery!

My days of clubbing until 2am are over. I guess my days (nights) of clubbing are pretty much over anyway. Except during Jazz Fest in New Orleans.

Maybe it did have to do with size - although I always thought surgery was supposed to be harder if you were heavy. I am not obese, but I do have a good 20 extra pounds of "cushion". I am "dining enhanced" not petite.

I'm another one who couldn't care less about LL, but my DH had double hernia repair and walked out of the hospital (refused a wheelchair) three hours later. He did stay home from work the next day, but we went to church that evening. Of course, a church service is a far cry from clubbing

I don't think size has much to do with it. I'm 5'10 and heavier and I swear those meds knock me out for a good 24 hours and I still feel loopy for another day or so after. After my first laproscopic surgery my MIL told me that I woke up and looked at her as sweet as pie and said " ya know,your a real B****!" smiled and went back to sleep



I was surprised to see how well Lindsay looked to. I'd have been hobbling to me car in my sweats and old t shirt looking like death warmed over

TMZ. com is reporting that Lindsay has entered rehab

TMZ has confirmed that Lindsay Lohan has checked herself into rehab, according to a statement issued through her rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnik.

"I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health. I appreciate your well wishes and ask that you please respect my privacy at this time."

Lindsay's mom, Dina, revealed last month that Lindsay had been attending AA meetings.

It's been a tumultuous few weeks for the "Mean Girls" star. Just two weeks ago, Lindsay underwent an operation to remove her appendix.
