Lindsay Lohan admits bulimia

So sad. Very few had it going like she did. Decent acting and looks to die for.

I don't understand how she didn't see all the praise for how she looked before all the weight loss.

So, so so sad that so many girls of this age, see this "Lollipop" head look, and think "Yes, THAT is what I want/need to look like"

And this is just another example of - that look is not natural. Anyway you cut it - you cant look like that unless you destory your body in the process.

It's about time she admitted something other than "I just lost a few pounds!" I was getting so frustrated with her and Nicole Richie. They are disgustingly thin looking and need to get help.

I applaud Lindsay for coming out with her secret and wish you loads of good fortune to overcome it.

Hopefully a few more actresses that teenage girls admire will be more willing to come forward about their eating disorders. Eating disorders are such a huge problem with teenage girls now! The pressure to be rail thin is rampant in high schools all over the country!

I just saw on the news this morning, that she was admitted to the hospital for asthma.

Considering all the negative talk that's really hard to understand. I have yet to see any one piece prasing the "lollipop" look. Quite the opposite directed at Lohan, the Olsens, Nicole Richie, etc...

In fact if anything it's become OK to call people "rails" and the like when they are simply fit. There is a problem, but the name calling has got out of hand on this end of things as well.

Yes, but they are still getting the attention, aren't they? They're still rich, with boyfriends, movies/tv shows/music videos, and paparazzi. All this = good to a lot of teens, regardless if some "old fuddy-duddy" says they look funny. What do a bunch of old people know, anyway?

I also heard (and I don't know if I've got my dangerously thin actresses mixed up) that she was hospitalized before for something and lost a lot of weight due to illness. She got so much praise for her weight loss that she felt she had to maintain it.

As a Lohan fan I have not sen any press I would see as positive since she went "lollipop". Quite the oppsoiste, from males and famales of any age. She went from "it" to *poop* in record time.

The paparazzi just documented the fall, pretty harshly I might add.

She used to be such a pretty girl, I hope she gets help.

I believe in an upcoming Vanity Fair mag she is interviewed. She admits to drug use..specifically cocaine and that once she really took a good look at herself and saw how thin and unhealthy she was she realized she needed help. I heard this on the radio this morning along with the bulimia issue.

I must admit that I trash her in front of my girls whenever her name comes up. She is such a BAD role model. I hope they don't want to be like her.

eating disorders are mental health problems and people with mental health problems aren't always rational. it makes sense to people not suffering from the disease, but those suffering can't see it that way.

i hope she gets the help she needs.

Hollywood gives such mixed messages. They praise actresses if they lose weight, but then punish them if they lose too much weight. How is someone supposed to know when they should stop? What is the perfect weight?

I remember reading an interview with Courtney Cox who said when she made the Springsteen video, she was a "chubby" size 6. I could understand someone who is shorter saying that, but isn't she at least 5'7"? When would a size 6 be consider large on someone that height? She looked sooo thin during the later seasons of "Friends".

Wow. I don't think she ever looked better than she did in that video. :confused3

There is a terrible scourge in this country of basing self-esteem on looks rather than substance. Hollywood perpetuates it in the worst way.

eating disorders are also fueled by competition. So when you have a show where there are several women, or you're part of an "in" group like Paris/Nicole/Lindsay and one of them is losing weight and getting lots of attention then it's pretty likely the others will follow suit.

A good example of that would be Ally McBeal. Courtney Thorne Smith has mentioned in several interviews, as well as Portia DeRossi, that she felt pressure to lose weight because of Calista being so thin and it became a competition even though she knew deep down it was unhealthy.

Initially the eating disorder is a conscious choice but very soon the disease controls you both body and mentally.

Very true.

I wonder if she'll admit to having her chest enhanced next?

I swear, she grew 3 sizes during "mean girls"

That reminds me of Teri Hatcher. I think she lost weight because Eva Longoria is so little.
