Linda's goal = Lose wt + 1/2 marathon 09(encouragement welcome)

WOOHOO! Last long run before the big day next week.

8.2 miles in 1:25:22,a 10:24 pace.I hope I can keep that next week.

Sunny,breezy in the 30s

Linda

Linda, have fun, best of luck. I cannot wait for your report. You go girl!!!!! :thumbsup2

OK what is this white stuff??????????? I want more Florida sun!

Boy did we luck out or what?

If finished the full in 5:39,not what I had(hoped) for but I did finish,Based on my training times I was off by exactly one hour.

I think in the future I will stick to doing the 1/2 only.In New England I found it way too hard too continually watch the weather not to mention the phobia about getting sick.

Linda

Hey Linda!! First of all, Congratulations! You finished your first marathon and you should be very proud of that! I was thinking of you this weekend, and I was sad that we didn't get to meet up.

Don't give up on the full yet! Your first marathon is hard in so many ways...if you do it again next year (hint, hint)...you will probably run a much faster time. I said I didn't ever want to do the Goofy again and I signed up last night for next year!

OK getting back on track here.

After completing the full I have decided to do the 1/2 next year-add the Donald medal to the collection.Probably the 5k too.

I have focused so much on running the distance I really let myself go otherwise.

Time to lose weight and get toned- AGAIN!

This a.m. did 30 minutes running on the treadmill, weights- chest and back.Need to start slow, I want to walk tomorrow.

Weight- 165 lbs.It is amazing all this running and the scale did not move once up or down!

Linda

30 minutes on the elliptical - speed 4.5 with a couple sprints of 5.6, 2.18 miles and 302 calories.

Abs and lunges today too.

Registering for 5k and 1/2 today! WOOHOO! My brother is going to do it next year too.

Linda

Wow!

I have not read the whole journal...but I am so impressed! The FULL marathon? Gosh...I don't ever see myself doing that!

I plan to start a journal soon! I have so many other threads going that I am a little weary to start another one!

:)

But...I have been doing well. I have to lose a considerable amount of weight before I can ever run. I have never really been able to run, honestly!

But, I do have some goals...a 5K in April (walking), the ToT 13K in October and the half in 2010! :) I also am losing weight (WW) as I go! :)

Anyway! I am joining your journey!! :)

Ran 30 minutes on the treadmill yesterday. Weights after.

What a playlist I have made- it is so awesome I did not even mind being on there.

Linda

Elliptical x 30 minutes today- 2.08 miles, speed 3.4-4.3 with sprints to 5.8.
290 calories.

Abs too.

Going for a walk now- 28 degrees and sunny! I want 75 degrees!

Linda

cool!

I made a playlist, too! And I can't wait to use it! :rotfl: I can't believe I feel that way...can't wait to get on that treadmill today!

What kind of music do you listen to? I am a fan of Contemporary Christian and some Country (some pop, too)...and I have found some old songs and new ones that are "fast" enough to walk to and be motivated! :) I also have some slow Disney ones that I am using for some inspiration, too!

Way to go!

And I can't believe you walk in 6 degree weather! I must be a wimp...because I can't get out when it is that cold!

Hi Linda,

Just found your thread :thumbsup2 It looks like I have a lot of reading to do in order to catch up. Thanks for the encouragement in my progression. Hopefully I can reciprocate here ;)

Today I did 40 minutes on the treadmill.I am loving my playlist.I have a different speed I go for every song.

Missed the weights today because I got sidelined by a phone call just as I got off the treadmill.

Have a great day everyone that reads- anyone???

Linda

Hi Linda,

Well I'm all caught up. :thumbsup2 You are an exercising machine. I don't know where you get all that energy but keep it going.

Seriously...Good Job :woohoo:

Now that we got our treadmill I need to create and awesome play list as well. That's next on my "things to do" list.

Elliptical today x 30 minutes, speed 3.4to start then steady 4.3 with one minute sprints to 5.8/6.4. 2.07 miles and 289 cals.

Abs too.

Linda

I have only tried an elliptical once. I didn't like it so much. Thought I was going to DIE actually...

Maybe I should go back and try it now that I have been exercising more! ?

You are doing a GREAT job!!

Keep up the awesome work!!

Walked 3.6 miles today- love my Garmin.Out there for 1 hr. and the weather is not what they said it was going to be :(

I need to start running outside again to get ready for my 1/2 in April.

Linda

47 degrees and sunny but 30 mile per hr wind gusts.I still had to get out there with those temps.

First run outside since Disney. In 32:18, 10:25 pace, not great but it just felt good to be back out there. At times I felt like I was running in place because the wind held me back that much.

Going for a 5 mile walk with a friend now.

Linda

Hi Linda,

Thank you for stopping by my journal! It's always nice to meet someone new.:goodvibes

I will try and get caught up on your journal over the next few days....

Great job getting those workouts in!:cheer2:

Have a great Monday!
