Limo to PHL

I was wondering if anyone has used a limo to get back and forth to the Philadelphia airport. I'm trying to avoid Economy Parking.

I live in the Washington Twp area of South Jersey.

1. Does anyone have a company to recommend.
2. How did it work out with the Pickup at your home and on your return fiight.
3. How much did it cost.

On a side note: Does anyone have a better parking spot other than the Economy parking at PHL.

Thanks.

Hi!

We have used Rapid Rover in the past - not exactly limo but its a nice van that picks up other passengers headed to PHL - don't recall exact price but it wasn't crazy. Nice drivers, clean, and less than a limo.

We have also done Family Limosuine in Haddon Twp. - again don't recall the price but it was definitely higher than Rapid Rover. Pluses to this were that we were their only client and they didn't come get us as early - Rapid Rover since they pick up several families for similar timed flights, sometimes we were at the airport super early....

Hope it helps.

I don't know any limo services out of NJ but we have Paoli Limo (van service)near us. When I priced it out for DH and I, airport parking fees were less expensive for an 8 day stay. I would try one of the off-site parking services before the economy lots. You can get discounts on line plus they usually have a AAA discount. We usually use Ampco which is now called Pre-Flight. They are right off Island Ave. They have a great shuttle service.

We have parked at Avistar, on Essington Avenue. We went for 5 1/2 days. The price was around $50

When we lived in south jersey we always used Rapid Rover. They were always on time!

We're from the same area - next town over. I'm just curious as to why you don't want to use the economy parking at the airport. That's what we were planning to do.

Also, a consideration for us is centralairpark.com

Just saw a coupon recently for 2 days free. I believe they will shuttle you and they are reasonable.

The above question is to the OP, but for us..after having our house broken into we didn't like leaving the driveway empty for a week. We'd rather leave our car parked at home and just take rapid rover to PHL.

We live in Wenonah. Three used ago we used Advatage Limousine (located in Oak Valley - 415-7600) for our trip to PHL which required a 5:30AM pick-up, but did not use them coming home. My DFIL used our van to pick us up at the airport instead. I have heard that a car dealership offers parking services for $5 a day and they bring your car to you upon arrival. They advertise in the Inquirer.

Hope that helps.

BTW - The kids loved! taking a limo.

We have used economy in the past (three times). We didn't really have any problems until last year, when it took about 45 minutes for the economy shuttle to pick us up.

We are going for 10 days, and I was just wondering if a Limo would be cheaper than parking in the economy lot.

I know my kids would love to be picked up in a stretch limo, and so would I for that matter... lol

So I figure the economy lot will be close to 100.00, why not splurge a couple of extra bucks and go with the Limo. But I'm inexperieced with Limo's and don't know the reliabilty or the cost. I don't want to be waiting for a Limo at PHL instead of the Economy Bus.

I was just kinda of hoping someone else on this board used a Limo the PHL.

Thanks for the input so far. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We have used James Limo many times and they're wonderful. Of course, this can only happen for us when my parents come too and we split the cost. When it's just the 4 of us, we shlep to Economy lot and yes, it is a pain in the butt. :headache:
For a 6 seat limo (not a big stretch, just 3 seats facing forward, 3 seats facing backwards) it was about $116 each way including gratuity.

I guess it depends how long you'll be away whether or not it's worth it. For a long trip it's great since you'd be paying a lot for parking anyway.
BTW, the limo has same size trunk as a reg. town car. Last time we had to put some small carry ons inside on the floor. They are able to remove the front passenger seat (request in advance) and that area can hold a lot of luggage too. In Nov my bro & sil will be coming too so we will definitely have to get a van. We haven't priced that yet but will probably go with James again. :goodvibes

There are lots of good lots around the PHL area. Avistar and Colonial parking come to mind immediately. They are priced competitively. We use SmartPark when we have to park our car. They are a little harder to find, but we've been pleased with the service.

I live a short drive (8 miles) from PHL and work about a mile from it. I often see both Rapid Rover and SuperShuttle taking passengers to the airport on my morning commute.

Hi, I'm new here, but you can call King Limo. They offer sedan service in all of NJ and PA. Or have you given any thought about flying out of ACY on Spirit Air?

I love ACY Airport and Spirit Airlines, but they couldn't match the deal I got on Airtran (98.00 RT).

Most of the Limo Companys want about 200.00 + tip for drop-off and pickup. I'll have to check on Rapid Rover, but it looks like I'll be shlepping off to Economy parking.

Thanks for all of the responses so far, keep em coming.

I'm in Glassboro. We use A-Kings limo from Williamstown all the time. They never let us down. I have them booked for our trip next month too.

JohnnyR:

What kind of rate do you get from them......

Hmmm......Glassboro, where abouts.

Rapid Rover is only cheaper if you allow them to pick up other people too. Then they charge per person. They end up picking you up super early and dh has no patience to be waiting around for other people too. He waits enough for 2 ds's and me.:lmao:
You can also get private van service from them but you have to request it.
I've never seen Spirit beat any price I can get flying from PHL. I keep checking though just in case.
When we've used James Limo the driver was waiting for us near the baggage carosel holding a sign with our name on it. He helped carry luggage to the limo and find a way to cram it all in. It was about 10 degrees outside and we had just returned from a Dis. cruise so that alone was worth the $$.
I don't like leaving my car & keys with anyone. (visions of Ferris Bueller's Day Off) It's nothing fancy but it's mine and I need it to last as long as possible or we'll have to cut our vacation budget.:sad1: :scared:

I'm the same way about leaving my keys and car with someone. I would get the exact same inage in my head when I saw the driver go off in my mini van.

:lmao: :lmao:

Hmmm......Glassboro, where abouts. I'm off of Fish Pond Road a couple of blocks from the Little league field.

They are not as cheap as Rapid Rover, but I'd rather pay extra and have a direct route to and from the airport. We are paying $165 RT including taxes and tip.

Fish Pond Road! i know where that is. sorry. i got all excited for a minute. i didn't think anyone from SJ was on the DIS. my cousin lives across the street from Bloomers on one of those street that has birch in it... whitebirch, silver birch.. i forget.

anyway, my dad used Pacific something. everytime we go to the PHL airport.

One more from Washington Township here! I'm off Egg Harbor Rd, near the CVS.

Anyway, we always park at Expresspark. They had a coupon in the last Valuepak (the coupons that come in the mail in the blue envelope) that came last week.

We have never had a complaint. Everyone is very nice. You take your keys with you. I would never valet my car, anywhere.

Last summer, I had the brilliant idea of parking in the economy lot. DH dropped us and the luggage off and went to park the car. We checked our bags and waited, and waited, and waited for him to come back. Turns out, the economy lot was full and they diverted everyone to the regular garage. Unfortunately, they didn't tell everyone that the regular garage charges $17 a day!!! Needless to say, we will NEVER park at any of their lots again!

Sorry, I can't help with a limo service. I went through the phone book one time to get some prices and they all were pretty expensive. Good luck! :)
