Just printed out what I hoped would my first of 2 or 3 bonus buy turkeys this year at my grocery store. On the coupon is say free turkey limit of one per bonus buy number....

Every other year I've managed to get multiple turkeys, not this year....has your grocery story put a limit on how many turkeys you can get this year?

Yes the stores around here limit it to one per card.
I remember years ago when it was spend $200 get a turkey, ham or tray of lasagna, I always spent enough to get two or sometimes even three items!

They don't do that at the grocery stores down here in Florida. I soooo miss it. I was super excited to see that K Mart is doing it this year! You have to spend 250 in merchandise but that wouldn't be too hard to do honestly. I won't get one but at least it is happening in our area. Hoping that the grocery stores will follow suit next year.

Well, like at CVS and their ECB limits - there may ways and means around it - I didn't suggest this as it is slightly unethical :goodvibes - but you could just get your oldest child and your DH their own numbers :rolleyes1

I've not ever seen the grocery stores around here do it either. We usually end up getting our turkey at Costco.

I think that ours has always had a limit, too.

But hey, I have a bonus card, DH has his own bonus card, so we can get two (I always donate one). You might want to try this strategy, too ;)

I have never heard of this as well. I usually get our turkey at Wegmans or Trader Joe's. I know TJs doesn't have a program like this and I assume Wegmans doesn't as well.

I've never heard of this either. Some stores do have the if you buy so much you get a free turkey.

My father bought a turkey the other day for me for Thanksgiving. He got a 20 pound turkey. There are five of us!!! So once again, Robbie will be inviting his students and other instructors at the base over for dinner. I kind of freaked a little on the price since I know that they will be super cheap in a week or so and he just paid 1.05 a pound. Then yesterday he came home with a 10 pound ham. I am going to have so much food left over it isn't even funny. :rotfl:

Acme isn't even offering them this year. The other stores in my area are limiting free turkeys to one per bonus card. Of course, there's always the possibility that more than one family member will have a bonus card, but with the amount of money you have to spend to get just one turkey, I can't see too many people getting more than 1 or 2 anyway.

It's a shame for the food banks. A lot of the radio stations and grocery stores team up to collect those extra turkey coupons so that they can provide Thanksgiving for the less fortunate. So many more people could benefit from those turkeys this year.
