If you have never been to Disney Land/World, how do you decide which attractions you should check out?

If you're there for a limited amout of time, 1, 2 or 3 days how do you select, what strategy should I take, so you don't feel like you have missed out?

Is there any information, websites to help with planning this?

Would really appreciate any advice, links, etc

Thanks

Just about any WDW site has some suggestions on touring days.

Birnbaum has several pages describing such scenarios.

If you have one-day and one-day only, I'd do this:

Hit the Magic Kingdom when it opens or, better yet, make an early ADR at Crystal Palace so you will be at the end of Main Street at rope drop, be familiar with rope drop and Fast Pass, and do the must dos: Space Mountain, Peter Pan, Small World, Philharmagic, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Carribbean, Splash Mountain, and then hit your three favs again.

Leave early enough to ride the monorail around resort loop and then get off and change to the monorail to EPCOT so you can see that.

If you have more time, you'll just have to figure out what you enjoy most at the other parks.

:cool1: Depends on size of group and ages. I would buy a guidebook and let everyone in group pick a favorite or 2 (Not to be missed attraction) and plan my days around that. Don't try to see everything it will never work out and probably cause disappointment.

Since the title of the thread asked what I would choose, I'll answer that question.

First off, I would probably only concentrate on Magic Kingdom and Epcot. I'd probably skip Animal Kingdom and MGM. These are the attractions I would be sure to hit at each.

MK - Space Mountain, Small World, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise (all the classics). And if I still have a little time, I'd hit Mickey's Philharmonic

Epcot - Mission Space, Test Track, Spaceship Earth. Maybe take a quick stroll around the different countries. Maybe get a snack or counter service meal at one or two.

And that is how I would spend my time there if it was very limited.

I wouldn't do a one time trip in that short of an amount of time, but for a first trip, I'd say three days will give you a good sample of what WDW is like.

If you've only got three days or less...you're going to miss out. If you go for six days, you're going to have to skip some things - that's actually one of thethings i love about WDW. There's always something more to do there, although some DISers stayfor ten days or longer, but that's just not our style.

With three days, I'd choose a day at MK, a day at Epcot, and a day split between AK and MGM. If you don't want to pay extra for the hopping, then I'd pick one of the last two parks, on the day that it has the longest hours. I'd want to take full advantage of EMH hours, so I'd stay on property, preferably during the week, and perferable NOT during a popular holiday week -such as Christmas, President's day week (Feb.) , or Easter. I'd also probably start plotting my next trip as soon as I got back.

As long as I wasn't traveling with little kids, I'd use fastpasses, and try to goon as many of the fastpass attractions as I could, as well as those that looked interesting to me. With little kids, I'd do all the attractions in the preschool section of the Disney web page, and then have the adults take turns going on the adult attractions using fastpasses.

I'd avoid using the Disney Dining plan, and opt for mostly quick service eateries, I'd pick a resort with a food court, but spend as much times in the parks as I could. Eat aquick breakfast at the food court, then get to a park ASAP via the resort's main bus stop. Eitehr that or eat breakfast on the go in hte parks, the same with lunch. I'm often big on having a sit down dinner, but with asort amount of time, I limit myself to one nice table service meal. I'd also limit the amount of time I wasted over the day - when one person uses the restroom, everyone attempts to go - or you make a trp while others are finishing their lunch. I'd only buy snacks at booths when there were nolines, and I'd eat my lunch at 11:30 instead of noon.

You can find out the park hours on the Disney webpage, as well as get an idea of many of the attractions, and the many dining options.

I had a chance to go for 2 nights/three days in March, and I knew I had a May trip planned so I bought an AP and went for it! I concentrated on MK and Epcot since those are my favorite two parks, and planned on seeing my favorite attractions (Soarin and TT at Epcot and HM, Splash and a couple others at MK) and anything else was icing on the cake. Look at your favorites and go from there.
