Limited offerings in Cabanas right now

Anybody notice if they have the muesli in Cabanas for breakfast? That’s my absolute favorite, but I’m guessing they don’t have it right now.

Muesli was available on our 11/1 and 11/5 cruise.
Enjoy!

In the past, the lunch menu in the MDRs was the same menu every day. Is that still true?
When we were on the Magic in August 2018 they had different lunch menus every day in the MDR (I think they have 7 different ones). No idea what it's currently like though.

So they had the made to order omelet station, or just omelets sitting out to be served?
Cabanas had no omelets on our 3 cruises. No omelet station or premade omelets sitting out to be served. Just the scrambled eggs on all cruises. Hope they bring back the premade omelets, I can’t eat their scrambled eggs, they are too runny.

I was on the Dream back in mid-August and again mid-October and had the same experience. No omelet station in Cabanas. We had to go to the MDR if we wanted one made.

If I recall correctly, their scrambled eggs are made from a mixture, which I thought was really good until, however, I discovered that they added sugar to stabilize it, which sent my blood sugar skyrocketing (type 2 diabetes).

Same for us on our B2B2B on the Dream December 2019. Some of the items were the same, but there were also differences.

Oh wow, I had no idea, now I definitely don't want to eat them! And I already disliked them and did what I could to avoid them. I usually went over to the omelet area just to order scrambled eggs. Then they would point me back to the scrambled "eggs" on the buffet and I would have to go through the "well, I don't like those ones" but maybe I should say, "I can't have the sugar in them" just to bypass the whole conversation. That's bizarre.

The sugar was not added by DCL, the scrambled egg mixture came that way from the supplier. But yeah, the scrambled eggs in Cabanas are not freshly scrambled. You have to go to the MDR for that. So when eating in Cabanas, I always went to the egg station.

I could be wrong about that now, and if anyone knows differently, feel free to correct me. :-)

From what I read on another post they are 'liquid eggs". These are real eggs, prescrambled, that come in bags for ease of use. They usually have a mild preservative in them (a type of sugar maybe?), depending on the supplier and can last for weeks - but Im guessing DCL goes through them so fast they never have them this long 😮. I always thought they were powdered eggs due to the odd texture and bland taste, but I guess they are at least real eggs. Whatever the case may be, I'm with you, and go elsewhere for the real deal right outta the shell.

Those scrambled eggs are not very good. Texture can be very inconsistent as well. When cruising, I usually go for poached eggs, preferably with corn beef hash. Have those been available in Cabanas or the MDR?

There was corned beef hash when I sailed on the Magic last month.

On the Dream 11/1 and 11/5 cruise, I notice an omelet station. Did not use the service but saw other passenger taking advantage of made to order omeletes.
Enjoy!

Yes we were also on that Nov. 5 cruise and that's where they did have a made to order omelet station. And I tried the scrambled eggs once---WAY too liquid for me. When I ordered them on our last morning I told my server to make them "well-done" LOL.

Sorry if this was asked or mentioned, but since most of my family is obsessed with the various egg's Benedict dishes... were these available at Cabanas?

I guess I'm weird because I actually liked those scrambled eggs. :-)

At least until I realized what it was doing.

On the 10/31 Wonder Baja Sailing there was a Benedict station in Cabanas each morning. (It was right next to the omelette station, which the Wonder also had)

Each morning they had one traditional Benedict and one 'specialty' Benedict. We ate breakfast at Cabanas twice. On one of the days the specialty was Florentine and the other it was something with turkey. Your best bet for Benedicts though is taking advantage if they're offered at the sit down breakfast. Much fresher and tastier, especially if that sit down is Palo Brunch :)
