Does anyone on here use Limewire to download their music? My son uses it and has just downloaded the new version - but now cannot access the site.
Every other site works bar that one !!

Someone did mention that some ISP's are blocking these free download sites and that may be the cause.

Any help would be appreciated.

Haven't used it in ages as it's got loads of spyware on, so might just want to be careful!

I used it last week and it was fine. It does download loads of viruses tho so be careful with it

I'm fed up of deleting it from my home PC. My DD keeps putting it back on for illegal music downloads!

It does seem to bring with it a fare amount of spyware, trojans, and malware  plus there is the risk of getting fined for music theft.

Hi Sue,

Yes, i'm afraid i have to agree with all the other dissers, it was limewire that caused my computer to duff up last year and i lost ALL my photos and ALL my favourites etc...

If i were you i would give it a WIDE berth hun ;) Theres no way i would ever let my girls download it now, i lost too much important info to even contemplate it. But, of course it's entirely up to you what you do :goodvibes Let us know how you get on :)

Not that i need to add to what others are saying but my brother decided to download it two weeks ago on to my pc and i ended up with 3 trojans and a very slow pc, thankfully i've got rid of it all;)

Another bad experience here, my brother downloaded it onto his laptop and he ended up with a number of viruses :sad2:

As other posters have mentioned Sue it does come with its problems. DH is a music freak and downloaded it ages ago. We ended up with so much problems with our PC that he toook it off.

Thanks for your help - might be a good idea to ditch it then !!

He could always use I-Tunes anyway.

As others have said Sue lots of problems with these illegal download sites.
ISP and employers are getting heavy because the music and movie industry really can't tackle the end user. To difficult and resource heavy. But the ISP and businesses are a much easier target.

We're a 5 iPod family and have been more than happy with iTunes :)

I have just downloaded limewire and strightaway had problems with my pc. Everything went wierd and i had to shut it down manually needless to say it has now been unistalled i wouldn't recommend downloading it.
