The DIS has been around for quite some time, as you guys know, and I think around 2000 or so there had been several meets by then, and people wanted to know when other DISers were in the parks, so on the Community Board one day someone suggested choosing a color to identify other DISERs. Remember how popular yellow ribbons were? and then other colors were popular, like pink for breast cancer, red for AIDS, etc., so the idea came up about having ribbons in a certain color. A poll was put up, and the color that won was lime-green.
So, people started wearing lime-green ribbons, tieing them to their backpacks, etc. I used to put them in my hair. Back in 2001 we had our first Disneyland Meet, and it was a nice size. Tink33 made strings with beads on them with our names and lime-green beads. I still have and wear mine when I go to DL.
Well, then, someone discovered that Home Depot had "lime-green" Mickey Heads (LGMH), and DISers have pretty much chosen those to display and show their DISiness.![]()
What a great story time! I loved it. Can you read it again ?
