Lime Green -- Ideas List

I thought I might start this as a new thread since the "lime green" craze is going over so well. There have been some great ideas suggested. Maybe this would be a good place to "catalog" those ideas and coordinate.

---- use Super Glue to attach pin backs
---- putting our DIS user name on our pins
---- putting something else on our pins about the DIS boards
---- laminate the Mickey heads
---- use paint samples from other paint companies, and use a Mickey head as a template
---- what have I left out?????


I just don't know if I'm going to have time to MAKE everything I want to make before our trip in 1 month!! So little time, so much to do!

Oh I just go with the traditional lime green curling ribbon from Wal-Mart and pin it under my GOH badge each day. We also tie it to our stroller - makes it easy to find later in the day in FantasyLand when the strollers are lined up a mile deep.

I actually have a plastic coiled lime green key ring that I keep around my wrist. That is how I was mistaken for a DISer and was introduced to the DIS.

I wear lime green coiled springy shoe laces in my shoes, too. I ask anyone withLime green anywhere. I just approach them and ask are you on one of the discussion boards? If they look at me like I've grown a second head out of my shoulders, I apologize and go on.

FYI, I just finished making a pin from Sculpy clay, using one of the Mickey heads as a template. It's not great, but it doesn't look too bad either. The pin-back is baked into the clay so it's permanent and should last forever!

To those of you who talked about putting your DISboards username, etc., on your tag: what do you put? Just your username; do you write out "DISboards;" or some other designated phrase? I'm debating about doing this, but want to sorta be like everyone else here.....

We put "Dis" on one ear and "Boards" on the other. Then put our Disboards name in the middle with our real first name underneath.


We also used the business card size self laminating cards to make lanyard cards for our lanyards. They match our pins.

If you want to make smaller pins, use a 50 piece for the head and a penny for the ears. Then you can use the sticky side of the self laminating cards to cover it. It will completely cover it if you center it on one half of the sticky side.
