LILO reservation system and room requests?

Hi!

I'm hoping someone can give me some information on WDW's LILO reservation system. I called to place a room request on a reservation this morning and the CM informed me that, as part of WDW's LILO computer system upgrade, there are no longer human room assigners at the resorts. A computer system named LILO now makes room assignments based on the room category chosen and the availability at the resort and that LILO does not take into account requests noted on reservations. The CM said the first human at a resort that will see those noted requests are the front desk CM's checking us in and that our best bet, if we don't get the room we want, is to ask for it again when we check in.

Can anyone tell me if this is true? Thanks!

Generally, yes it is (generally as in I don't know all the specific details of how it works). They went to computerized room assignments a while ago - probably 2 years ago at this point - time flies! There are no more human room assignors at the resort, from all I know.

However, I do not know if the FIRST time it is ever seen is when you are checking in. That doesn't make sense to me because people (including me) often get at least some of their requests yet. So I think there is some human intervention at some point, but I really don't know what it might be or where that happens. Or maybe the computer can read the requests. But I don't think it's at the individual resort level.

Many of us were calling the new system Stitch when it first came out due to all the issues it was causing!

Thank you for the information! Yes, I, too, have gotten at least a portion of my requests fulfilled in the past two years and that is why I was surprised when the CM gave me this information this morning. Makes sense though - I can't imagine how tedious the process must have been for a human being to go through all of the requests and manually assign rooms. I read about some of the glitches when it was first put in place - sounds like a nightmare!

vicki_c, you are a WEALTH of knowledge! You answered one of my last questions as well about upgrading tickets and saved me a lot of money and aggravation, thank you!

Well, thank you - I've had a rough day and that made me feel better!

The system does recognize some requests, such as near an elevator, floor and in some cases view but beyond the norm it just ignores them. In a past thread a CM posted some of the special request options that the system has available. Otherwise, yes the check in CM is the first human to see your reservation once it is put into the system.
