Has anyone ever stayed here? The pool looks like fun and the rates are pretty cheap. What do you think?

I had been considering this for an upcoming trip. The reviews on Tripadvisor seemed mixed, but overall ok.

Then I read a horrid review on redweek which pretty much sealed the deal I wouldnt go with liki tiki. (it had to do with safety).

There was a recent thread here on this resort. The reviews here are mixed as well.

We stayed there for New Years and were disappointed. It's barely OK and cleanliness was an issue. There are many resorts in the area that are much nicer.

We stayed at Liki Tiki at the end of May 2010. We staid in a one bedroom condo with fold out couch it was just 2 adults 2 kids. The room was clean. Property was clean. The water park was wonderful the kids loved it. The lifeguards on duty were on top of things. Its not to far from the parks and its a nice property. Has alot of fun things for kids such as mini golf, paddle boats, playground etc. It is a good price point and we are going back this year getting a 2 bed 2 bath condo for $580. I recomend it. Best of luck.

The reviews are mixed for this resort. However I had a friend stay there last year with his two kids, they really ejoyed the hotel and the pool. Hope this helps.

We stayed there a couple of years ago. The 2 bedroom condo we were in was nice, clean. The pool was fine, but as far as the "waterpark" that you see in the photos, it was pretty much just a regular water slide (maybe there were 2) into the pool and a swing that went around in a circle in the pool for the little ones.

DH and I stayed there in 2008 and loved it! We never went to the pool but it was great bc it was so close to the parks and clean.

I stayed there a couple of years ago in a two bedroom unit. It is certainly not luxurious but there were six of us and we were comfortable. It is close to the parks (10 minutes or so) and we found that very convenient. The "waterpark" was fun for two kids ages 10 and 5. It is just a really big pool but it looks impressive and if you are staying in orlando you are probably not spending your vacation at the pool everyday. Our one off day from the parks we used the pool and played miniature golf which was perfect.

Again, not luxurious accommodations but fine for the price. The condo was equipped with what we needed to make breakfast and lunch. Would I prefer to stay onsite? Without a doubt. Can I afford to stay onsite? Absolutely not.

Thank you for posting the reviews, we were considering this because of the water park. Good to hear before we booked.

We were on a serious budget so we saw this place on ebay for a good price, instead of hitting the buy it now button we phoned the resort and the girl on the phone said she could do better than that and gave us a really good rate. I think there are 5 waterslides with a volcano with nice seating around the edge of the pool. My son really liked the mini golf he was 4 at the time and they let you play until you get sick of it. Also we we used one of the peddle boats and we toured around the lake on site and we were told there was a small gator in the lake but never saw it but beside the peddle boat a big turtle came up and took a look at us it was great. The kids loved this place. They also rent fishing rods. We caught quite a few fish I think some of them were bass I am not sure on the rest of them. Be sure to check out the giant eal in the fish tank at the front desk. The is a playground too, this is a real family resort with lots to do when you get sick of the theme parks. Our rooom was a 2 bedroom condo with full kitchen and we really liked it. I give it 5 stars. Another good resort to look at that I have stayed in, is the orange lake resort condo. It has lots of pools and lots of fun things to do. Check ebay for condo deals.

Thanks for the review. A family member gave us a week of his timeshare at Liki Tiki, so the fact that our lodging is free makes it all the more likely that we'll enjoy the resort.

Good to know what amenities are available at the resort to help plan for how much time we'll want to spend there. One thing we like about Liki Tiki is the smaller water park. We're skipping Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach this trip since kids are a bit too young (7 & 6) and those water parks seem so big. Sounds like Liki Tiki's pools and water park will be much less worrisome for me & DH so we'll actually be able to relax by the pool instead of chasing the kids around.
