Liki Tiki v. Sheraton Vistana Pool

For our annual August trip this year we are staying exclusively off-site, split between Star Island (our home resort) and another TS that we are going to trade into. We usually split our stay between off-site TS and DVC, but we are saving our DVC points for a November visit this year.

One of the reasons we love to stay on-property are the pools and waterslides for the kids. The resorts that we can trade into a 2 bedroom are Cypress Pointe, Sheraton Vistana, and Liki Tiki. Liki Tiki seems to have the best pool, but the resort ratings are far inferior to Vistana.

Questions: Are the pools at Vistana pretty standard blah TS-resort pools, or do they offer slides, etc? Are the rooms at Liki Tiki that much worse than the rooms at Vistana? Any recomendations?

TIA!

Sheraton Vistana Resort pools (all 7 of them!) vary from pedestrian standard rectangles, to huge zero entry pools. Only one pool has a slide, but my kids really love the waterfall into the pool. This waterfall feature is actually better at Sheraton Vistana Villages. The best pools are near Fountains/Lakes section, although Cascades pool is pretty good too.

I've never done Liki Tiki, but Vistana Resort has recently been renovated (one section still under construction). The rooms there are really first rate.

We stayed at the Liki Tiki 3 years ago. We loved it! We were a little cautious before arriving because of some reviews. From the moment we entered until the time we left, we were treated like family. I requested at that time building 14 which I do believe was brand new. There may be one new unit built since then , I am not sure if it would be 15 or not. The unit itself was top notch. I would avoid the older villa type condos in the center of the complex although they were being renovated at that time, my understanding is that they are poorly insulated. It might be alright for a night or two but wouldn't want to spend a full week in one. The pool area itself, although a little wore was extremely clean and the staff made our children feel welcome. Plenty of things to do from morning to late evening. There are 3 pools at the Liki Tiki , the kiddie pool , the main pool , and the quiet pool. These were all clean and well maintained. Now the only problem Liki Tiki is at the far end of 192 , be prepared to travel a distance for most things except Publix which is 2 doors down. If you are traveling to Disney , just up the road a km or two , there is a short cut(Sherberth RD. that will save you several minutes in travel aggravation.
Last year we were invited to Sheraton Vistana Villages ,(bldg.23) this is a very well run resort. Just watch out for your pool towels. This will be our first year at visiting Vistana Resort. We prefer this area of Orlando, minutes to every thing. I will say this, my sister owns timeshares all over the world and she has rearranged her vacation next year to spend with us at the Vistana. Herself and family friends highly recommend this Resort. Need I say more.

A few years back we used our TS and stayed at Vistana. We visit Disneyland in Cal often, but were new to Disney World. We were surprised by how everything was so spread out. We enjoyed the Sheraton very much. Highlights were certainly the many pools. This was before those kids wet areas were as popular, but I remember the pools being large, with great service, and lots of kids. The condos were very nice. Ours had a spa tub and I sat in it every morning before heading out to all things Disney. Unfortunately I don't have any other resorts to compare to, but we certainly enjoyed this Sheraton
