Likelihood of getting discounts through DU??

What has your experience been in booking through Dreams Unlimited and having the discounts applied at a later date when they come out? Are you better off trying to do this on your own? Or, is Dreams Unlimited very good at getting the discounts - AAA, AP, etc - for you? I'd hate to book through DU and "hope" that they can get a discount for me when I may have a better chance of getting one on my own.

Any DU users, what do you think???

we have used DU for each of our recent trips..they can give the AAA rate initially and are very good at getting the discounts when released...I have always asked them for the discount as I have know about them here as quickly as anyone else.

Great at getting PS also...got CRT for us!

I was sweating it when I got a postcard while my agent was on vacation.

But her fill-in came through and applied it. My agent then checked each and every time a new code came out. (AZZ, and annual pass rates).

She also got us an Illuminations Cruise, and Cinderella's Royal Table.

This past April/May I had a long trip planned 17 nights at the GF and BWI. My best friend and I had saved for over 2 years for this Grand event and of course we were hoping for some kind of a discount. I originally booked our rooms with a AAA discount as soon as those were released the prior July (2003). I was so afraid of missing out on the Ap rates or whatever else became available since there are a couple of days a week I work 12 hour days and what if they were released on those days!!?? I turned my reservations over to Sue Ellen at DU solely for the purpose of obtaining any available discounts. I cannot say enough good things about my experience, Sue Ellen seemed as genuinely happy about our Disney Visa discount as we were. The GF was fully booked for our entire stay so we only had the AAA discount there. My thinking was that at least the TA's at DU have better access to CRO than the hundreds or thousands of us calling, not to mention the fact that most of us do have to work at something to support our WDW addiction!! Those discounts were released on a Sunday and by Monday am there was nothing left at the BWI. I am convinced that if I had been on my own (which I have done many times) I would have missed out. Sorry so long, hope this helps your decision.

My agent wasn't able to apply the AZZ code to my king room at POFQ but she was able to get us a standard view room at AKL for the same price as our AAA discounted POFQ room. So even though we didn't get a discount with AZZ, we got an upgrade When the AP discounts for Septmeber came out, our agent was able to apply the EWK code to our AKL reservation!! I'm pretty happy with the rate because it still is cheaper than our original reservation
