I wish I had childhood memories of Disney but I don't. My WDW memories start in 2008 with my own daughter. My parents never thought Disney was a good idea. They always took us camping and to 'educational' places ie: Williamsburg, VA, Acadia National Park, ME, Fort Ticonderoga, NY, Etc... There would be no way by parents would fly us anywhere or stay in an hotel. :sad2:

I did. I tested fate to see what she would bring. But Snow White, although beautiful and talented was dense. I watched other people eat the apples first, and gave a bite to my kid first. :lmao::lmao:

LOL How long did you wait till you took a bite? That could of been all the difference. :rotfl::rotfl:

It should have been in yesterday...but the nurse called as the clinic was closing and they did not have it.

She should have it back today.

Since they know the seizure meds are off...I think they think that is what it is. Honestly, I basically "ordered" the sodium levels - so I don't guess they think it is a priority to get them back. I just wanted to rule out two things at once...

I don't really buy into the "let's check the seizure levels...and if those are good THEN we will check the sodium" - especially the week before DISNEY! I think we should fix it all quick.

And her confusion was a lot like it was when she had the sodium issues. :confused3

But...I suppose I am not a doctor. :upsidedow

This is great news Maroo. I'm happy that you guys are still going to be able to go. I hope while you are in WDW she has time to rest a little so she doesn't get run down.

Of course the kid first! :lmao:

I resent them all THE PLANNER (read that in a deep voice)... and it is the "rest" version.

We are taking a whole day on Friday to rest and sleeping in many mornings. She normally stays up late and sleeps quite late - and we will be an hour ahead - so sleeping in will be key, I think. She normally sleeps about 10 hours.

Of course, we miss rope drop - nearly every day - but I am praying that they will provide her a GAC that will allow her to rest and still be able to ride things like Soarin' and Toy Story even if the Fast Passes are all gone. Otherwise, she may be skipping some of those - as it is not really possible for her to wait over an hour for a ride without resting and taking care of medical junk.

You guys can pray for warm weather. One forecast has it getting down in the LOW 40's (wind chill in the 30's) and Rachel will just freeze. :sad2: But one forecast has lows in the 50's...which sounds much better. ::yes::

I like nifty.

Great retro report! Those are not easy! Looking forward to more.

Nifty swifty...

Thanks! You are so right, retro is just trying to tap too deeply into an already foggy memory bank. You did superbly, I might add! Like you had been there yesterday. I should go back and read yours again- well, I would if I didn't have such a hard time keeping up with my own! :lmao:

Those are great trips too, though! My kids adored the Smithsonian, and just yesterday, Mikki said she wished we had done more sightseeing in DC than we had gotten to. (Grouchy BIL syndrome) They also love the Civil War re-enactment 2 springs ago. I guess growing up we did a nice mix of both,

but you know what, as many "educational ones" they go on, the topic of most dinner conversations is still reminiscing over our WDW trip last spring. We camp, we do museums, "hysterical" sites, but WDW trips still trump everything for "Most Memorable"!

LOL How long did you wait till you took a bite? That could of been all the difference. :rotfl::rotfl:

Long enough to really know that I wouldn't fall down and have not have a pulse. Do you think S.W. had a pulse??

maroo is a saint!! I just could never be patient enough to travel with someone who needed a lot of breaks, sleep-ins and rest. Maroo, you're my hero!!! :worship:

It was a no brainer... besides giving great hugs, they are excellent poison testers. :rotfl2:

Yikes!! that's cold! I do know how cold it can get there! Pack accordingly, otherwise the entire contents or your pocketbook AND bank account, AND the national treasury could get sucked dry (oh, wait, our national treasury has no cash. Pack well, your sources are limited!)

I'm glad things are working out for the upcoming trip. Bundle up!

See answer above.

hey guys! More update. Her sodium IS low! Maybe I should be a dr. Lol. It is not dangerously low...but low enough that they can hopefully fix it or at least address it before we leave. It was a good find...because hopefully they can avoid having to fix it urgently and allow her get the sodium slowly over days or weeks instead of an urgent hospital admission.

So... That is the update. Busy weekend ahead for me. But I will be around.

Congrats on your graduation!! :thumbsup2

Dr. Maroo?! I kinda like the sound of that, I think it'll grow on me! ;) I'm so glad that you know what's up with Rachel!

That was the re-enactment where Grandpa got pooped on by a bird. It was so obvious that it was done on purpose!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

DC is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Oh man! I'd forgotten that!! That was hilarious! He swears the bird had a personal vendetta and picked him out specially. :lmao:

Here I am - hijacking again - and begging you guys to pray for us.

Rachel is now sick - sick sick. 101F and coughing up all kinds of junk. (sorry, that is gross!)

Anyway...she is ALREADY on pretty strong antibiotics, so her lung dr is quite concerned and at one point today said she should not go. He didn't say she "couldn't" go...that she shouldn't go. Rachel's Mom talked to him again - after talking to Rachel. Rachel says she doesn't really "feel" bad - which is the same thing my bronchitis has been doing to me...I really have not felt bad, just coughing and running fever.

Anyway...he said she CAN go. But severely cautioned us...to not overdo it.

I am asking you guys...to please...pray for Rachel. That she would feel GREAT on this trip. Joyce and Rachel both are prepared even for a hospital stay when she gets back - but she wants to go to Disney and she wants to see her friends at the MPS conference (several of the other children with MPS are going this year!!) and doesn't want to wait. She says she wants to LIVE as long as she is living. "To stay at home my room is not living"...and we agree.

So...

WE ARE GOING!!!!!!!!!!

But please pray for us! Please pray for safe travels. For Rachel and for us - that we would make wise decisions about what to skip and what to make sure we catch.

Thank you all so much for praying for her!! She has been through a lot - and you guys that have been around a while know that...I want her to have a wonderful trip with her family.

I HAVE to add this picture...
She is hanging in her hoyer lift with a towel on her head...looking pitifully sick. She thought the picture was so funny she posted it on her Facebook page! She cracks me up.

rachelsickinhoyer.jpg

So...pray with us....that we will have some HAPPY ... DISNEY ... pictures to post next week!

I'm glad things are working out for the upcoming trip. Bundle up!

We are going to look like a bunch of eskimos! Especially Rachel! :goodvibes

Please keep praying for us! See update above.

Oh...I think you could do it! Just think about the smile on Lauren's face... :) How cool it would be to make that happen! Trust me...I "get" way more out of this than I give.

I will definitely pack warm! I already shipped a box of my warm jacket, gloves, scarfs, long underwear, sweat shirts...etc...so that I can still pack light and be warm at the same time! And the rest of us are basically prepared to stand out in 30 degree weather...so hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised that it is so "warm" outside when it is 50.

The national treasury has no cash!! That is HILARIOUS!

At least we have the Nobel Peace Prize. ;)

I would need the National Treasury! Nah...I am really glad to be done with school forever!

Congrats on your graduation!! :thumbsup2

Dr. Maroo?! I kinda like the sound of that, I think it'll grow on me! ;) I'm so glad that you know what's up with Rachel!

Thanks so much for praying! :)

Dr. Maroo does have a ring to it!

lol

I"m so glad you've all decided to go. I know you mentioned a while back that you had a feeling that this might be Rachel's last trip- anywhere. I would be sad to see this not happen- ever.

We'll be looking forward to some "happy" pictures when ya'll get back!!

Glad she's maintaining a sense of humor too; that picture is hiliarious!! I'd never post something like that on FB!!!

Maroo- I'll be praying for you guys... especially Rachel. I'm sorry she isn't doing any better.

Liesa- you get a PM today?
