Like a Bad Meal (V Keeps Coming Back) - THE END! 1/12/09

Fortunately, I did know her DH’s real name, unlike the case with other DISers (coughcoughMelcoughNOTBobcoughcough),

:lmao:

He is so stinkin' cute! :goodvibes

Doesn’t the turkey look good? The one in the foreground I mean. Though the ham in the back is pretty handsome, too. ;)
Yes, not so much. Sorry. ;)

For the life of me, I can’t remember what he got, but boy do I remember what I saw. And wanted. Very much. On the back wall, they had an assortment of organic cotton T-shirts. Really cute T-shirts. With peaceful, environmentally-friendly messages on them.

I’m a tree-hugger dontcha know. :hippie:
The more I learn about you, the more I think we must be long lost somethings. :rolleyes1

Quite frankly, they were scaring me. It was one of those arguments, filled with accusations, disrespectful tones, name-calling and threats of bodily harm. The kids seemed to be left out of the melee, thank goodness, though listening to it couldn’t have been good for them.

Again, I was ready to call the front desk. But I stopped. Why? Well, I was afraid the neighbor might hear me making the call and retaliate. He’d seen me alone with a small child, and he knew which was my car. Really, I was scared.
That's frightening!

What a night. And it wasn’t even late September, let alone ’63.
(NO Four Seasons.)
I love that song! :rockband:

That did NOT smell funny or feel damp!!! :yay:

Hooray!

As the words come out, I’m thinking, “DOH! The poor guy’s probably like ‘Well, who else would be answering the phone in our room with a male voice?!?!’” I’m an idiot. Fortunately for me, David’s a good guy and if he thought I sounded like a fool, he didn’t let on. Thanks David! :goodvibes

It was probably Jo's lonely man friend. :lmao: JK, Jo.

On the back wall, they had an assortment of organic cotton T-shirts. Really cute T-shirts. With peaceful, environmentally-friendly messages on them.

I’m a tree-hugger dontcha know. :hippie:

I wanted a couple of those shirts badly. But they were not cheap. At all. So I instituted the stop-gap measure designed to save my wallet: I’ll sleep on it and if I still want them tomorrow, I’ll find them at another shop, since we wouldn’t be back to POR.

Famous last words.

AKL has then, for future reference (oops, T said that already). I, too, had to talk myself down. Because they are not cheap, at all.

Again, I was ready to call the front desk. But I stopped. Why? Well, I was afraid the neighbor might hear me making the call and retaliate. He’d seen me alone with a small child, and he knew which was my car. Really, I was scared.

Oh, V. How yucky.

Great introduction to another great adventure with V and Leo. I really enjoy your trip reports and pictures.

How was Leo's swimming on this trip?

Wonderful that the room smelled ok, but sorry about the man next door.

That did NOT smell funny or feel damp!!! :yay:

Did you use an alias checking in?;)

But did come with a leering neighbor sucking down beer whilst eyeballing me and chatting loudly on a cell phone. Outside his door. Whilst smoking a cigarette. :headache:

OH no!
(coughcoughMelcoughNOTBobcoughcough),

OK what am I missing, is his name not Bob?

And for the record, I had the same question in my mind the previous SUnday when I called to tell them to watch the weather channel and warn them of Fay.:lmao:

Doesn’t the turkey look good?

You know, not a big turkey eater, but that does look pretty good, though I prefer the ham in back:goodvibes
Nothing replaces seeing people you care about dearly in person. :goodvibes

Yep:thumbsup2

So I instituted the stop-gap measure designed to save my wallet: I’ll sleep on it and if I still want them tomorrow,

Hmm... something for me to consider:rolleyes1

Really, I was scared.

Oh V:hug:

Its so much fun to meet up with another Disser at Disney!!! Glad check in went so well...sorry about the crazy neighbors....seriously do these people ever think maybe they are waking others??? :confused3 I would have called the front desk or the cops but I certainly understand your hesitancy though....hope you got enough sleep to make it to mk rd.

Well if it isn't a smelly room its a stinky neighbor. Jeez. You have all the luck!

You were in mansions huh? The room is like ours. What building if I may inquire?

Just a little rain on the drive, huh? Great check in & nice room. Bad neighbor!!!:sad2: Weird neighbor!! Scary neighbor!!! :scared: I think that just about covers that subject! Nice meeting with Jo & family!:goodvibes Taking back unused ponchos????:confused3 I have a feeling we'll be hearing more about that one!:rotfl:

It's been a long day where I am. I usually multi-quote you...but alas...this isn't a day for multi-quoting.

so, I'll just say...

WONDERFUL UPDATE DARLIN! YOU ARE A TRUE WORD GENIUS!

Sorry for the Clampit family next door! :sad2:

And if you want some very environmentally friendly tees, with much the same message, with less of the cost...

Have you tried Etsy??? :confused3

You need to. V will love it!

Vegan soap??? They got it! Tree-huggin' tees...they got them too! Have fun darlin.

Oh, can we keep him? Leo is such a cutie! I can't wait to meet him in person! :goodvibes

As we finished up, I spied a family headed our way – Jo!!! Oh my word, it was sooo good to see her again! All of them; David and their girls Jessica and Ellie, too. No matter that Jo and I chat frequently, if not daily, online. Nothing replaces seeing people you care about dearly in person. :goodvibes

Hugs went all around. Jess and Ellie filled me in on their trip so far. Leo flirted with them while Jo and David and I chatted. It was a nice catch-up and a great way to start the trip. Thanks for coming to find us guys! :grouphug:

I can just picture it! :grouphug:

I’m a tree-hugger dontcha know. :hippie:

Dude! :hippie: I would have never guessed. ;) That's part of the reason I love you! :goodvibes Not to mention your other forward thinking views that I admire...

Remember the neighbor?

He had a lady-friend. Wife. Something. They slammed into their room around 9:30 and proceeded to argue. Loudly. With slurred words. And much banging of drawers and doors.

You just have the best luck in getting choice room assignments. :sad2: I'm sorry they were so loud and you were freaked out.

What a day! :faint:

As in repetition of the same events.

Over.
And over.
And over.
And over.

Don't ya hate when that happens?!

That did NOT smell funny or feel damp!!! :yay:
:cool1:

But did come with a leering neighbor sucking down beer whilst eyeballing me and chatting loudly on a cell phone. Outside his door. Whilst smoking a cigarette. :headache:
:scared1:

Yup and Yup.

Those caught my eye too at the Emporium - they are so neat!

I held off at MK because of cost too and then we went on a DVC tour. And we each of got a $15 gift cards. That was enough for me to justify getting one! (Would that be some of your Fuzzy Disney Math?!) And of course when I went to World of Disney, they didn't have the one I wanted. :headache: However, a nice CM pointed me in the direction of Summer Sands and they had it! :yay:

Which one did you have your eye on?

Remember the neighbor?
Oh no.

Those poor kids.

That's a tricky situation and a scary one too.

For the record... I really intended that last installment to include the first part of the next day, too. But I got wordy. And took too much time. And ran out of time. Part 2 is at the front of my brain, ready to come out, just as soon as I have some uninterrupted time to type! (stupid work)

Joanne, that's for next trip
Wha...??? NEXT trip?!?!
It was great to see you 2 and the girls still talk about what Leo said to them, I'm sure Jess will retell it word for word in her TR
I don't remember at all - can't wait to hear about it!
I saw them loads of places V so you should be able to find them
Stay tuned! ;)

I've come to the conclusion that WDW is not a place for those with sensitive noses.
Truly!
Ummm... please tell me these are photos Leo took. You know, the NON-DRIVER.
:rolleyes1
What do you mean Mel's not coughcoughMel? Are you sure Bob's not Bob??? I'm so confused - I called him Bob all night. And Mel too! :confused3 I mean, I didn't call Mel Bob, I called Mel Mel.
Who are you agian????
Ick. You poor thing! Next time just call us and I'll send Andy over - he can be scary looking. I'll tell him to bring his ghetto. ;)
:rotfl2: That would have been fun to see!

You just like to take the long way to really get into the Disney mood;)
Yeah, that's the ticket!
Do I want to know how you took pictures while you were driving
:rolleyes1

I was so glad to see this today.

I needed some "V" in my afternoon.
Aww, thanks Tink!

I love Riverside Mill. Love it!!!!!
I really do too. I always find something good to eat there!

Another awesome installment! Thanks V :)
Thank YOU! :goodvibes

The more I learn about you, the more I think we must be long lost somethings.
Hey there sista-friend! :thumbsup2
I love that song! :rockband:
Me too! And. I've been singing it in my head since I wrote that part. :headache:

It was probably Jo's lonely man friend. :lmao: JK, Jo.
:lmao:

Did someone take a picture? I feel like I might need one. :rolleyes1
Stay tuned. ;)

Great introduction to another great adventure with V and Leo. I really enjoy your trip reports and pictures.
Thanks so much!
How was Leo's swimming on this trip?
Oh, we'll be getting to that, trust me!

Did you use an alias checking in?;)
:lmao: Kind of!! WDW has me in their system under both my married and maiden names, depending on what credit card I use to reserve/pay. I was using both this trip!

Glad check in went so well...sorry about the crazy neighbors....seriously do these people ever think maybe they are waking others???
Nope. There was definitely NO consideration. At all. :sad2:

Well if it isn't a smelly room its a stinky neighbor. Jeez. You have all the luck!
Don't I though? Who wants to vacation with me?! :rotfl:
You were in mansions huh? The room is like ours. What building if I may inquire?
Yup, Parterre Place, #95.

Just a little rain on the drive, huh?
It was weird - we could see each band from Fay come across teh Interstate! Lots of rain, but nothing that greatly reduced visibility. :thumbsup2

Sorry for the Clampit family next door!
:rotfl2: Dude, it WAS the Clampits!
And if you want some very environmentally friendly tees, with much the same message, with less of the cost...

Have you tried Etsy??? :confused3

You need to. V will love it!
I'm scared I'll go nuts!

Oh, can we keep him?
Last week, if you'd asked, I'd have stuck him a plane with my Southwest credits! :rotfl:
Dude! :hippie: I would have never guessed. ;) That's part of the reason I love you! :goodvibes Not to mention your other forward thinking views that I admire...
Right back atcha!

And we each of got a $15 gift cards. That was enough for me to justify getting one! (Would that be some of your Fuzzy Disney Math?!)
PERFECT FDM! :thumbsup2
And of course when I went to World of Disney, they didn't have the one I wanted.
This makes me feel so much better! You'll see why later! ;)
Which one did you have your eye on?
Can't say. Yet. ;)

Hey, I recognize those clouds!

David answers and, (you’ve gotta love this), I bust out with: “Hi, can I assume this is David?”
:rotfl2: I did this same thing to Tony at Tambu!!!

Oh, you mean the AWESOME shirt with the tree that goes right into Mickey's head??? THAT really fantastically cool shirt???? The very one that is THIRTY TWO DOLLARS????

I wanted one, too.

I didn't get one, much to DH's chagrin.

I'm a cheap-o and it was beyond my reservation price for a tee.

Famous last words.
You got the really fantastic tee, didn't you?

:goodvibes

the nice CM ringing me up explained that I should leave them folded exactly as they were, and if I never used them, I could always return them at the end of the trip.

Remember that.
Oh boy.

Again, I was ready to call the front desk. But I stopped. Why? Well, I was afraid the neighbor might hear me making the call and retaliate. He’d seen me alone with a small child, and he knew which was my car. Really, I was scared.

:scared1:
I can completely understand why you didn't call the desk. I bet you were happy to move the next morning.

When we had an infant on our trip a few years back, I remember feeling SO bad whenever she cried, because I was sure our neighbors would be disturbed by her noise. I can't IMAGINE carrying on in a loud fight.. for so long.. how terrible!!

Thanks for the POR reminders... when Matt and I went on our grown-up trip last January we ate dinner at POR the night we arrived and the place was empty like it was for you and Leo.. and the food was yummy, too!!

Can't wait to see how y'all do in the rain!!

THIS is still alive? ;)

JK !

I think I'm all caught up based on the handy Table of Contents
(so user friendly and accommodating you are!):thumbsup2

The turkey does look delicious but I want the ham! SMOOCH!

Hi V! I am back from WDW ( ) and have read all of your reports! And as usual there are so many great moments and adorable pictures of Leo. Now that I'm all caught up, I'm looking forward to vicariously attending Fockerfest through your report. Someday I hope to be a certified Focker too...I have never even had a Lapu Lapu! (For shame!!)

Okay, V. Finally caught up after getting home last night. You may proceed now!

The pics of Leo at the food court are so adorable. I've got a DD4 that would be so cute with him! When can we set them up? :cutie:

So sorry about your neighbors! Can't believe someone would fight like that knowing that everyone can hear them!

So, what happened next??? popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

Doesn’t the turkey look good? The one in the foreground I mean. Though the ham in the back is pretty handsome, too. ;)
I love Leo's silly look.. and that turkey looks pretty good too...
Too bad I have a Slow cooking ROAST in the Oven :headache:

We enjoyed our leisurely-paced meal and talked some about what the And the arguing got louder. The adult slurring stronger. The banging more frequent.

Quite frankly, they were scaring me. It was one of those arguments, filled with accusations, disrespectful tones, name-calling and threats of bodily harm. The kids seemed to be left out of the melee, thank goodness, though listening to it couldn’t have been good for them.

O.K... That brought back a bad memory... Joshua's melt down in June... I was afraid cops and social workers would be at my door.

But Leo is still cute

Bumping from page 3, but I thought I would tease you about this.

Having learned a critical lesson during the Great Saratoga Monsoon of Jan. 2008, Leo and I got back in the car and drove to the main building at POR, snagged a closer-than-close parking spot and headed for the food court. Counter service. Quick food. Whatever.

I remember your harrowing story, but did you park in back of the Mansion? We stayed at the same Mansion and the food court was across the bridge.
