Lights of Winter gone?

Bigger question is what will we do. If Disney corporate keeps raising prices, cutting the little things that made it so special, will we keep going and spending our money. I ( and my family) will not be back for a while unless things change for the better.

I thought that the AC closing was bad, and now it is getting worse. Ce ya!

Wow I am sad to hear this will no longer be part of Epcot.

I am not even going to tell my family. We are DVC members and they only go because it makes me happy. For the past three NYE visits, I have been hearing lets go to Atlantis next year, let's go on a cruise, etc. But I want to be at Disney on NYE like we have for the past ten years.

Maybe it really is time to find a new after Christmas vacation spot??

MsA

Maybe it is time for a change. Doesn't your family get a choice? 10 years in a row at Disney. Mmmm, time for a change, for sure. :confused3

I know what Disney is going to do for 2010!!!!!

They will introduce a BRAND NEW TOUR !!!

It will be named ...... "Where Did Christmas Go? :sad2::sad2:

It will be a tour to all the places where they used to have Christmas decorations or celebrations!!!

Highlights include looking at the walkway where LOW was once performed....maybe including some old photos.....don't forget the MVMCP photo locations, How about the stop at the platform and stage for the tree lighting ceremony in EPCOT! The list will grow each year.

Perhaps in time it will grow to a full day tour - with necessary upgrades in the COST of the tour. Maybe as Disney VISA members - we can even get a ....... discount.

Don't forget about the Country Bear Christmas Show which was cancelled several years ago. Other highlights could include the free photos you received at MVMCP and the 25% shopping discount you received at Epcot on the day you had ressies for the Candlelight Processional.

Rumor has it that is going to be included on the "VIP Where Did CHristmas Go" tour....for an additional fee, of course!

We can all stand out in front of the building in a :grouphug: and the tourguide will tell us all about the little santa hats the bears wore in the past.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Ok, Ok, I also forgot - at the beginning of the tour they can show us the collection of MVMCP buttons we got for free years ago.....and the MVMCP merchandise which has been retired.

At the end of the tour maybe we can buy Copies of this retired merchandise (now made in China and far lower quality) for 4 times the original cost - limited editions you know.

I'm all for value and I hate the cutting of services with the raising of prices but; the lighted arches at EPCOT were my least favorite of any decoration in all of Walt Disney World. Old technology was their explanation and they were right. They should have been gone 10 years ago in my opinion. The discussion should be about why they are just removing them instead of plussing it with something better.

Just back from a 2 day trip. The lights were NOT up..................yet, hopefully.

After a number of years the formation of the tour is complete. It will be a tour of the warehouse where the decorations not in use are stored.

a fun little update for ya - In the Eyes and Ears, a publication for CMs, they have a whole page used to highlight holiday events around WDW. Under lighting, it says something to the effect of "enjoy the dancing spectacle of lights at DHS, the icicles on the castle at MK, and the Lights of Winter at EPCOT"

so....someone dropped the ball somewhere. Either eyes and ears was not told of the change, or it was a last minute decision.

C'mom, Iger was hand picked by Ei$ner. Theye were cut from the same cloth.:sad2:
