Lights, Motors, Action Stunt Show

We saw the show last week, too (Wednesday, I think). It was ok, not really our thing but we are glad we got a chance to experience it. I read about the accident, too.

I read earlier today on Mouseplanet that there was an accident at the show last week. I thought they said something about the show being closed to previews until they get some more of the bugs worked out. Anyone has current info?

As I mentioned earlier we saw it Tuesday and it was great. Hope nobody got hurt...

I was at the show when the accident happened at the 5:30 show on the 30th. It was the opening chase scene. The car spun into the wall of the bridge. Neither driver got out of their cars but I think the driver of the black car was told not too since the other apparently couldn't. Within a few minutes they had a tent set up over the wrecked car and the EMT's finally arrived. The EMT's didn't do anything immediately so I am not sure he was hurt badly. I'd say they couldn't get him out of the car. They wanted the stadium emptied before they'd do anything. As we were walking out we did see an ambulance at the scene and fire crews were arriving.

Maybe they had to cut him out. As a former dirt racetrack owner, I have seen accidents like this where the driver wasn't injured but couldn't get out. My guesses come from years of experience at the track! I may be off base, but I think he wasn't too terribly hurt since the EMT's that arrived weren't hurrying and rushing around. I'd also bet that bringing the stretcher and ambulance was possibly as a precaution.

I also read that they weren't doing any more shows with an audience but someone posted that they saw the show on the 1st so maybe they are. We spent about 2 hours on it and didn't see it. Guess we will have to go back soon! (Like that's a bad thing!!)

A CM told me the stadium holds 5,000 people, so it will be able to accomodate 15,000 people a day. I too was told that last week's schedule of noon, 2:55 and I think 5:40 was to be the permanent schedule. I'd suggest a FastPass ASAP for the noon show, with a 1:15 or 1:30 PS at Mama Melrose's, Sci-Fi Dine In, or 50s Prime Time Cafe as a nice middle of the day plan. It did take quite a while for everyone to exit, so don't plan on speeding out of there unless you are sitting in the rows nearest the exits.

It was an awesome show!!!

On Friday, April 1, we were heading over to pick up a FP when they were seating for the 255 show, so we just stayed for that. As i said below, we enjoyed it but it WAS hot, although it was mid-day. But again, it was only April 1.

There were several fans going mid-way up (attached to the beams) but not nearly enough for the masses of people. I see a change coming....

Is Herbie part of the stunt show?

Herbie has a "walk-on" role during the stunt show.

We saw it last week and loved it ....the seats all seem to have a great view...

I was wondering how often the cars would be invovled in an accident...it seems the accident happened during our visit but we weren't aware of it and it was showing later in the week...

Just walk down to the end of New York Street. It is where the residential street used to be on the backlot tour. You can't miss it.

We read a report of the accident -- it indicated the driver of the red car was taken to a local hospital but was not "seriously" hurt. He was apparently a driver from the Paris show.

Hiya,

This show is hugely popular at DLP Disney Studios and reports suggest it is going to be just as good when we go to the MGM version, I cant wait!

When I saw the show at DLP my camcorder battery died so I didnt get to film it, Something I will rectify in Aug!
