We will be arriving in MGM mid morning in August.
I expect the park to be very jammed by the time we get there.

Q. Is Fast Pass really needed for the LMA Stunt Show?
The venue holds 5000 guests...........

I would prefer to use our FP opportunity for either the tower or coaster and taking our chances on the stunt show.

I understand the show is 35 minutes - so, am I correct in thinking that could be the longest possible wait?????? There is no way the line could hold over 10,000 guests or 2 shows worth is there..............

PS - I am assuming it IS Continuos shows..........

Nope.

3 maybe 4 shows a day.

I don't think getting a FP for this show would preclude you from getting another one for TT or RnRC.

This show has scheduled times, you will need to check your guide for times when you enter the park or check the info board. Normally there are only 3 or 4 shows a day, depending on season and park hours. I would say there will probably be 4 a day in August. We saw this show last summer over Memorial Day weekend and did not use a Fastpass and were able to get in. I have a 9 year old son who loves cars so this show is a must see for him. We also saw it over in Paris this past Thanksgiving. No crowds that day, it was about 35 degrees!!

we just got back used the fast pass for the first showing on saturday... even with a fast pass you will have a wait and MUST arrive early. We got there at 11:00 fast pass aid to return at 10:45 show started at 11;30 we had a huge wait, just to get in and then once we found our seat (in teh shade thank god) But those without fast passes had to wait till liek 5 minutes befor ethe show then they sat only at VERY TOP and sides......good luck

As someone noted, the FP for this show does not impact your ability to get FP for another ride/attraction.
We did not get FP last June and it did take quite a while to get everyone into the stadium.

It's been a few years...
Please bring me up to speed on FP...

It is my understanding that if you get a FP you cannot get another until
#1 You use the one you have. OR
#2 You wait 2 hours from when the first FP was issued.

Is there a way to get more than one?

There is a somewhat complicated formula for figuring out when you can get Fast Passes. I think it's probably explained on allearsnet.com.
The Fast Passes for the show at the Studios is not tied into the rides/attractions. It is sort of a freebie and does not impact getting other FP.

most (but not all) FP's machines are networked. there are a few that are stand-alone and just spit out a FP without precluding you from getting another in the time frame. DL has been tinkering with this for awhile.

Not sure I followed your explanation. For an 11:30AM show you were supposed to get there at 10:45AM if you had a FastPass, but you in fact got there at 11AM?

That's interesting. Does anyone know what others are "stand alone"?

Lights, Motors appears to use "unadvertised early next fetch" with a customized delay time resulting in the ability to get its fast pass about five minutes before or after getting a fast pass for something else.

During less busy times, such customized times, probably in the 40 to 70 minute range if the return time is not sooner, may exist unannounced for specific other rides as well.

I believe that, if you are late for the return time on your Lights Motors fastpass, you can still use the fast pass line but you must merge with the standby guests who have already passed the merge point.

And I think it's worth getting the FP. You are seated early and don't have to wait in the standby SUN line. Seating is more likely to be shaded in the stands. The only problem is that the FP machines are so far away from the other things you might do like ToT, RnR, Star Tours, etc.

Yep our fast pass said to return at 1);45 we got there somewhere between 1);45 and 11:00 BUT NOONE was actually let in we had to wait in a holding area(in teh shade) with all the other FAST PASS people until about 11:05 when they let us in.. they let us get seated then let standby people in at like 11:20 for teh 11:30 show The area they stood in was very sunny and hot...

Let me say this, the 1st time we saw the show we had a fast pass and we were on the second row from the bottom. Had a great time. The next time we went on a whim, DD5 LOVED :lovestruc this show (my little adrenaline junky) we were seated about 5 to 10 rows from the top, totally different experience. I was a nervous wreck up there, it is soooo steep  Get the fastpass and enjoy the show!! :cloud9: say hello to the show from my DD5, she'll be back in November

Having taken part in the Paris Moteur Stunt Action Show, twice... (He say's rather swankily).... There is no way it is continious shows, there is a lot of setting up, the bikes and car's need maintainance etc, and stunt work is pretty demanding of the cast members, so they need breaks.

It's a great show. Enjoy.

Cheers Larry.

PS My girlfriend took a photo of me on the big screens and I'm sure that I've got this spot, and its four feet accross on the photo. (Too much information.)
