A sleeping peep on the NYC subway.

She was OUT! Head bobbing up and down, almost dropping her bag a few times...poor girl!

Loving the recap of pictures!!! I haven't been around much and I'm missing this place BIG TIME!! We switched DS to a new school and I haven't had much time to breathe let alone do some Dising. Things are finally starting to level out a bit. I've been feeling that "pull" back to the Dis that I always feel at this time of the year. Isn't that crazy?? Since 2007 we've always done a February trip which we usually book in August as soon as the dates/prices come out. So all these years later, even though I don't have a Feb trip planned this time ( :sad1: ), I still feel something pulling me back here. I like it. :) I'm bummed that we don't have a trip planned for Feb. I miss Jordy! I miss Derek & Wendy & the kids. I miss Cherie & DJay & Rosie!! I miss Glenn & family! I miss all the people I've met at WDW and all the one's we missed out on. I don't know why but I've had it in my head since last Feb that we would all be able to go again this Feb except MORE Disers would be there. Guess we will have to wait for the Great Trip of 2012 instead!!! popcorn::

Just wanted you guys and gals to know that I received a note from Jordan.

He said he appreciated all of the notes from his Dis friends. He said he knows that his Dis buddies are praying for him because he is being blessed while in Kentucky even though the program is hard. The note also said he will be there until at least February.

Thought ya'll would like to know how he was doing.

Aww, thanks so much for the update!! So glad to read that he is doing ok.

Hi all...

So sorry I've been off the grid lately... been so busy with work, school starting, etc. Oh the joys of the fall...

Anyway - talked to Jordan last week and he appreciates all the great cards, letters, care packages, etc. he's been receiving. He is definitely the most popular there with the mailmen... he's been doing well - it's hard and his schedule is pretty busy, but he has Mondays off so those are his relaxing days. The program seems to be beneficial for him and hopefully it's helping address a lot of the issues that he's built up along the way. Appreciate all your prayers and packages. Snack foods are popular, and if any of you know what Pocky is, it's apparently super popular :-) http://www.asianfoodgrocer.com/category/pocky-sticks-pretz And any sort of Asian foods...

Anyway, he also sent a letter to all of you:

Dear DIS friends, :grouphug:

Sorry I haven't updated sooner, but life here on the ranch is VERY busy! First, thanks so much for the cards, postcards, letters, care packages, gift cards and other gifts. People roll their eyes as I get ANOTHER piece of mail. I think I get the most mail of anyone here. Mail has really sustained me on some of my tougher days here. Some of your words have been a gift from God sent specifically to encourage me. Thanks again! I love you guys!

If you haven't heard, I work for a company that distributes for Target.com. I cut cardboard for 10-12 hours a day. When I first started, there was a heatwave and I was sweating so much my shirt was soaked. I've lost 12 pounds since arriving in KY. This translated to 2 belt loops! All my shorts and pants are very loose. Very. My area fills orders for baby products and housewares and bedding. We ship to all 50 states so if you've ordered any of these things online, chances are it's gone through our warehouse.

Some of the exciting things we get to do: Go to Wal-mart 2 times a week, We provide our own lunches. The program provides breakfast and dinner Monday through Friday. So we need to shop for groceries. We have very limited refrigerator/freezer space so most of the items we buy are canned. Snack food is also a staple... chips, candy, popcorn, ice cream, nuts, soda... I drink a lot of Dr. Pepper! Mmmm, sweet! We also get to go to fast food on Fridays. Arbys and Wendy's are the normal staples. On Sundays after church, we can go to a sit down restaurant. I've had my first experience with both Waffle House and Cracker Barrel. It's not Jiko or Flying Fish, but edible and it's nice to enjoy fellowship with the other brothers here.

Most importantly is the time spent with God. We have many meetings and services. I am learning just what it means to be in relationship with Him. I'm learning my life isn't about me, but about serving Him with all my heart. I'm learning what it means to truly love and serve others, not selfishly, but as a true servant. It's been difficult looking in the mirror sometimes, but God has been faithful.

I miss all of you! I miss the laughter and the community we all shared. Thanks again for remembering me in your prayers. Continue to pray for His strength!

Love, Jordan

P.S. I forgot to add - I sing a lot of Disney songs at work. I also whistle the Electrical Parade music... of the 7-8 t-shirts I wear, 5 are WDW t-shirts... just keeping it real...:wizard:

So thanks to all of you for your continued support and prayers, most of all. Hope you are all well ...

wendy

Thanks Wendy for the update on Jordy and relaying his letter to us! It's very reassuring to know he's progressing through the program well.

Hmm....Pocky and Pretz are popular eh? I guess I'll be sending him some. I'll be happy to send some Asian snacks.

Thanks for the updates! It is great to hear this is helping him and he seems to be doing well! I have been thinking about Jordan and praying for him often! It is so good to hear some details about his experience.

Thank you for the updates! Glad to hear he is doing well and that the program seems to be working for him so far! I plan to send him a little care package when we come back from WDW at the end of October. :goodvibes

Thank you Lisa for sharing this....although I'm saddened by the news he will be there further past the dates he was expecting.
But! I'm excited he's obviously getting what he needs there or he wouldn't be staying longer. :goodvibes It's all good in the end I'm sure.

Thank you Wendy for sharing this letter and information with us. I think everyone needed a Jordy fix, I know I sure did! :)
I know it sounds strange to miss someone you've never even met, but it's true. Jordy has impacted a great many people's lives with his wit, his silliness and best of all his love.
I will continue to pray for him and send what ever he needs as I'm sure others will as well. He's very loved on here....I'm wondering if we need to start sending letters and goodies to his fellow brothers in there so Jordy won't get "the look," when he gets mail!
Thank you again Wendy for keeping us in the know. Hope your schedule calms a bit, I guess with holidays luming around the corner that's not likely to happen is it? :upsidedow

You are quite welcome. When I received the card in the mail, I didn't even read the name. I just saw Kentucky as the return address. I kept thinking "who in the world do I know in Kentucky?" I was very pleasantly surprised to see that it was from Jordan and to hear that he is doing well.
